Wikipedia is one of the most popular and visited web sites nowadays, but Does it really mean is a truthful source of researching !et us analy"e first what we need for trusting a web site #irst of all we need to evaluate the web source, especially for two main reasons $he first reason is over abundance of information In general we have to analy"e the %uality of the given information because anyone can upload some pieces of information to a web site $he second reason is the absence of a formal regulation to verify the veracity of the information $here are some criteria to evaluate a web site &ainly we need to determine who is the author of the article, his or her credentials and %ualification, impartiality, style, tone, and the date when the article was written 'sing these criteria, as a guide, we can decide if we can use the web page as a source (esides this, we can look for some hints like if the document has a lot of grammar errors or if it is difficult to determine the source of information )ometimes for selecting a right source we need to take into account to whom it is addressed, taking in consideration if we are going to write a paper for children, adults, professional or even investigators It is also good to analy"e if the document has any bibliographical references It, at least, would give us an idea of the reliability of the source *n the other hand say, regardless of the number of people that they consult Wikipedia this is not a valid source to be used as a reference in scientific and effective
