9 Install the Artillery Shell Rammer and Gun Laying Drive Cliffs North The area around A1 is a favorite spot for Arty, but you need to make sure you h ave sufficient Defense down the main road (column 1). There are a couple good s pots near A4 as well. If everyone goes East leaving little defense near base, I will often try to make it up the hill to the yellow circle at A5 even though it takes a long time. Cliffs South This is one of the most difficult locations on any map to find cover. Most peo ple (including me) head to the small bushes at K1 (if you are on the other team be sure to fire a blind shot here). People will also head to the K4 area, which is dangerous because the enemy will typically arrive here before K1 but your cho ices are limited. http://img834.images...829/cliffsa.jpg Ensk North This is one of the top three least arty-friendly maps. You will not find a gre at spot anywhere. The best spots are in the clusters of buildings in A5 and A9, though I prefer A5 because the enemy seems to get to A9 more quickly. Ensk South There are some good bushes in K3, but the fast enemy tanks get here so quickly sometimes it doesn t matter where you hide. Others prefer the K0 area, but I only go there if most of my teammates head into the open area in the East which rare ly happens. Many Arty prefer to go into TD mode on this map and head into the c ity. http://img59.imagesh.../5092/enskk.jpg Erlenberg West This is one of my favorite Arty maps. It takes forever for the enemy to get to you, even though they know right where you are. There are no obvious big bushe s, so most players find a small bush in the K1 area. I hate that the castle is on this side it limits your effectiveness and options. If more than half my team heads North, I will often follow them and set up in the F2 area, but this is da ngerous since it is easier to get spotted here. Erlenberg East Just like in the North, most players find a small bush in the corner A0 area you have the option of also setting up across the back line if most of your team he ads that way, but the hills do get in the way. F0 is a decent spot. No matter which team you are on, a lack of defense over the bridge nearest your starting p oint (J5 or B6) should cause you to move towards where the rest of your team is set up. C0 is also a good location (thanks Purest). http://img195.images...6/erlenberg.jpg Himmelsdorf North This is obviously one of the least favorite Arty maps. There is a little nook near A5 which gives you access to some of the enemy, but realistically you are n ot going to find a great spot. Many people also go to A1 or A0, and many others just go into TD mode. There is a thread about how to play this map in an Arty (The Link), but there are no great techniques. Himmelsdorf South

I usually head to K2. 2 & 3, and I can also Some people prefer to never had any luck at

From here I can shoot across covering most of columns 1, get back to base to defend if the other team gets there. stay in the base area and others go into TD mode. I have K0, but I have heard people say that is an option as well

. http://img502.images...immelsdorfd.jpg Karelia Northeast This map does not have many bushes to hide behind, but it does have good rocks and valleys to hide in. Most Arty head up the hill to the base and set up in th e A9 or C0 area, but anywhere with some cover near the base will work. I prefer C0 because it gives me the best chance to help my team in the Southeast. Karelia Southwest Same as the other base head up the hill and set up behind a rock near J1 or K3 ( I prefer K3 for the same reason I prefer C0). Even if the enemy gets through, t hey still have to come up the hill to you and you can often get off a shot or tw o in TD mode. http://img830.images...094/karelia.jpg Lakeville North Most people prefer to head to A2. Much of the map is limited by the mountains no matter where you set up, but A2 allows you to cover the valley along column 2 and most of the town in the East. I actually tend to set up in A3 near the hou se there and then adjust as needed. Many people have success at A5 (or even fur ther up the hill), but you have to get there quick. A fast tank coming up the m iddle can spot you if you are not hiding in time. Lakeville South Most people prefer A2 to cover the valley in column 2. There are two spots to hide in A2. The first is up on a little plateau. Some arty take a blind shot h ere from the North though, so you may prefer to move back behind the plateau whe re there is more area to hide. There are also some large oil tanks to hide behi nd in the K3 area. If you are in a fast Arty you can make it all the way over t o K8, but you take a big chance of getting spotted before you even set up. http://img64.imagesh...0/lakeville.jpg Malinovka North A favorite Arty map. I have had some great games here. It is vital you get ov er to the B1 area. Every other location is inferior. Do not hide in a bush unt il the enemy gets close to your base. There are long periods here where Arty on the other team have nothing better to do than take blind shots. Malinovka South Again, it is vital you get to the K0 area. Again, don t hide behind an obvious b ush or in the back corner until the enemy is close to your base. You can hit ne arly everything on the map from here. Watch closely where your team s tanks are m oving. If your tanks are taking the hill, be focused there. If you have a suic iding KV-3 crawling across the middle (it happens), be focused there. http://img843.images...8/malinovka.jpg Mines North This is one of the most difficult map locations for me to find a spot to hide i n. Many players go up the hill at A4 and hide behind a bush near the base. Thi s is a pretty obvious location through and I have been blind-shot here. Others head into the water at A1 hoping the distance and vast area will keep them safe.

There are a couple bushes near base, but they don t offer much coverage to any t anks spotting from the hill. Mines South I prefer heading into the buildings at K8. Be sure Not to knock over the fence when you go here. This lets the enemy know you are there and there are very fe w places to hide. I prefer to stay well behind the large bushes since the enemy will be taking blind shots there, but they still offer cover from enemies spott ing on the hill. There is a good spot behind a large rock at K6 also. http://img805.images...2213/minesj.jpg Murovanka Northeast I really like this map. A0 & B0 offer some good Arty hiding spots. Arty almos t always go here. I prefer B0 because it offers some buildings to hide behind i f any light tanks get through. I marked A7 & A8 in red not because they are bad spots, but they are so inferior to A0 & B0 there is really no reason to hide th ere. Murovanka Southwest J1 & K1 are the best spots available. K1 offers some buildings to hide behind, but J1 is very well covered and down in a small valley so it may actually be be tter. Enemy tanks have to get really close to find you. K3 has a couple bushe s, but nothing near what the corner offers. http://img209.images.../murovankae.jpg Prokhorovka North Great Arty map. Most Arty head to the A1/A2 area because it takes the enemy a long time to get here. I believe this is the best spot as long as you have some defense along column 2. There are many big bushes to hide behind. If most of your team heads East, the areas on either side of the tracks at A6 will work as well, but if the enemy breaks through you are wreckage. Prokhorovka South K1 & K3 offer good Arty coverage. I prefer K1 because the hill offers addition al coverage, but it takes longer to get here and set up. Just like in the North , if most of your team heads East, you can set up on either side of the tracks i n K8. I prefer the Eastern side of the tracks in the North or South. This take s away your ability to hit your base if you need to defend, but too often a smal l fast tank can shoot right up the middle and reveal you on the western side of the tracks. Abbey North There are a few random spots along the A line behind base, but I prefer A7 wher e there is good coverage. If you have many people on your team going down the p ath along the 8 column you can set up in A8 behind the small bush there. This i s a dangerous spot because you are dead if the enemy breaks through, but you are able to hit some spots you cannot hit from anywhere else. Abbey South K5 has a really good spot with lots of protection on your left and in front. K 7 has a really good hiding spot as well with bushes and protection on two sides. In the North and South the enemy has to come up the hill to get to you and is vulnerable to you in TD mode as well. http://img809.images...206/abbeyoa.jpg Arctic Region Northeast

This is my least favorite starting place on any map. There is a small bush in A9 where someone always hides (make sure to drop a shot there if you are in the Southwest). The only other available spot is up the hill in A0. It is pretty e xposed but it takes the enemy longer to get there than anywhere else. If you ha ve a good spot to hide please share it. The yellow areas are often used, but th ey are spotted more quickly than A0. On a side note, please do not go around th e corner in the south at G9 if you are on my team or I will mock you. Arctic Region Southwest There is a ton of good cover in J1 & K1. There are bushes everywhere. Be sure to keep from knocking over any trees while you are setting up; good arty on the other team will notice. This side of the map is so much better for Arty than t he other side I often wonder if they will soon change it. http://img52.imagesh...cticregiono.jpg El Halluf Notheast I see most Arty heading back to the A0 area. There is a depression back there that hides you so you don t even have to use the one bush there. In A8 you can us e the buildings for cover and go into the town if you need to go into TD mode or if you are spotted and want to hide from enemy arty. Experienced players in fa st Arty will often head to G0 even though it often gets spotted more quickly. T here is a large hill giving cover here, and you have access to some spots Arty i n the back corner cannot hit. El Halluf Southwest There are nooks you can set up in behind one I highlighted in H1. There is a bush o town if you are spotted. K5 is another on the other side you can hit some spots of my favorite Arty maps. http://img822.images...08/elhalluf.jpg the base in J1 & K2, but I prefer the here for hiding and you can escape int risky spot to set up, but just like G0 arty in the back cannot. This is one

Komarin Northwest (Base II) A1 & A2 are by far the best places to set up. Of course the enemy knows you ar e here, but they will have trouble getting to you on a map dominated by camping. There is plenty of cover and you won t be spotted until they get all the way int o the woods. If there is another good place to set up I do not know where it is . Komarin Southeast (Base 1) K9 & K0 are the equivalent of A1 & A2 in the northern base. Again, I do not k now of anywhere else anyone would go, but perhaps someone else has suggestions. http://img577.images...94/komaring.jpg Mountain Pass Northwest There are no great spots I know of on this side of the map. The most popular s pot is up the hill near the base at B3. Other people stay back near A2 or just go into TD mode. I highlighted a spot at A5 which I will often go to. You can only hit tanks in the C7/D8 area from here, but Arty help here often wins the ba ttle. Mountain Pass Southeast I hate to tell everyone this because it is such a great spot, but the location I have highlighted at J0 is phenomenal compared to everywhere else. It is a noo k in the very back near a rock. You can hit a lot of the map from there and nob ody ever goes there. Many people set up on the hill at H8. I also will go behi nd the bush at G0 (near the waterfall) to help take A5/B6.

http://img8.imagesha...untainpassu.jpg Redshire North There is a bunch of good coverage in A1 & A2. There are rocks, bushes and depr essions to hide in. Behind the base at A4 there are some bushes as well, but it is risky because the fast tanks on the other team love to come through B8/B9 an d will spot you more quickly. Redshire South This is really a much tougher side to find cover on. There are maybe three goo d bushes in the J0 area, but I always try blind shots into them when I am on the other team and often take out enemy Arty. The problem is there are not many ot her hiding places. The good news is it takes the enemy a long time to get to th is base so you don t have to find a great spot to do well. http://img812.images...17/redshire.jpg Ruinburg North This is an awful Arty map. You just have to hope your team is the one with the better, or at least braver, medium tanks so the other team gets spotted and not you. The area at A4 has some buildings to hide behind, but can hit very few sp ots on the map. A7 has some buildings as well, but you will rarely survive a ba ttle setting up here. If you have a lot of tanks going East (and are really bra ve) give A0 a try. Ruinburg South Did I mention this is an awful Arty map? Many people just go into TD mode here . K2 is a great place to hide while waiting to die, but can t hit much. There is a bush at K3 you can TD from. Many people play at K6/K7 behind the buildings , but this is vulnerable to the other team s mediums if they get through. K0 is a place for the brave, if you have plenty of tanks go East. http://img266.images...78/ruinburg.jpg Sand River Northwest A1 has been a more popular place recently. I found it works really well when y ou have enough tanks heading to C5/B6. There is not much cover, but it is tough for the enemy to get to. The pathway at B1 is in a deep depression and is wher e I prefer to go. I see many people go to E1 as well. Sand River note: Watch where the TDs always go (behind rocks on top of hill near base on both sides). Put a blind shot there when you don t have a target and you are likely to hit some thing. Sand River Southeast At J0 there are some rocks and bushes behind a hill. I usually blind shot here if I am on the other team so be careful. K9 pathway has a depression you can h ide in, but it is a dangerous spot because the enemy comes South along the K lin e and likes to enter the base up this path. If you have a fast Arty try C0. It takes a while to get there, but the enemy often doesn t look here for Arty. http://img841.images...3/sandriver.jpg Steppes North Anywhere behind the tracks in A1, A2 or A3 is good. Be careful about A4 though . You can be spotted sometimes by enemy tanks coming from A5 before they even g et over the tracks. There is a building on the south side of the tracks in B3. I usually hide North of the tracks here, and then cross over using the building on the South side for additional coverage if needed.

Steppes South K7 has coverage that is easy to get to with good protection on your left. K0 h as coverage and is also popular, though you need your tanks to win the battle in the East if you want to survive. There are a few other bushes scattered behind the base you can use as well. http://img202.images...406/steppes.jpg Westfield Northeast The area in A0 behind the buildings is perfect Arty coverage. It is well hidde n, takes a long time for the enemy to get to, and offers the buildings to hide b ehind if you are spotted. Some people head up the hill, but this takes forever in an SPG and is vulnerable to being spotted more quickly than A0. Westfield Southwest There is some good coverage in K1 & K2, but stay well behind the bushes at firs t. People drop blind shots there all the time. I like H1 as well for the acces s to building cover. Again, if you choose to go up the hill to F1 it is going t o take a while and make you more vulnerable even though there are some big bushe s. http://img37.imagesh...8/westfield.jpg Siegfried Line North This map dares Arty to head into the field. You spawn near the field and there are some large concrete bunkers out there. I have had some success out in the field at the A6 Bunker, but there is little coverage to hide behind while shooti ng. Also, all the fast tanks head into the field and fast tanks scare me. I pr efer the heavy coverage in A9 & B0. However, you must, must, must make sure you have some of your team s tanks going into town on the 0 column all the way to the East. If none of your team goes there, you will lose, but at least you won t be the first to die if you hide in the field. Siegfried Line South Again, the map dares you to head into the field. I always see Arty behind the K5 bunker. I just have more success in the East. I prefer K9. It offers some good coverage and a building to hide behind if things get hairy. If you want to make a long journey you can head to K0. The enemy tanks rarely search for you there and there are some good angles. It just takes forever to get around the l ake. http://img231.images...egfriedline.jpg Fishing Bay North Fishing Bay is really all about which corner makes the most sense. There is re ally great coverage in the North all along the border, so your choice of where t o set up should be made based on other factors. I believe you should get away f rom the base. After all, the entire enemy team is heading there. If most of yo ur tanks/TDs head towards town, head East (A8). If most of them go West head to the A1 corner. Fishing Bay South The South offers less coverage as far as buildings are concerned, but there are still lots of bushes available. Again, head for the corners to K1 or K7 based on where your team goes. One of the great things about going West on both sides is you can go into TD mode and defend your base near the end of the match when the enemy is capping. If you are careful they won t see you until you take your s hot.
