Dear Sir/Madam,
I am glad to inform you that a short term course Summer School on Digital VLSI Design (SSDVD_2014)
is organized from June16-30, 2014 in three phases with project/research work for students, faculties and
industry people. Project/research works are included with school with several requests of previous
participants. Now, as per demand of participants across the country three types of courses offered in
following schedules:-
Type-I: Phase1/Phase2/Phase3 (June15-20/ June21-25/June26-30, 2014)
Type-II: Phase1/Phase2 + 5 days project/research work (June15-25/ June20-30, 2014)
Type-III: Phase1 +10 days project/research work (June 15-30, 2014)

This course is designed as per requirements of industries, academia and R&D for trained man power in
Digital and Analog VLSI Design. This course will cover theory with practical on current available
advanced technology tools. Lectures will be delivered by Dr. Vijay Nath, VLSI Design Group,
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi
and some other experts from reputed institutions & industries. I request you to circulate this notice among
the BE/B.Tech. & ME/ M.Tech/M.Sc. students, faculty members/scientists/research scholars, and nominate
the same from your premier institute to attend Summer School on Digital VLSI Design (SSDVD_2014). In
this course preference will be given to highly interested students, faculty members and industry persons.
Participants are requested to carry your laptop for your research/project works.

SSDVD_2014 Course Objective : On successful completion, the learners will be able to effectively
work on:- Analog VLSI Design, Digital VLSI Design, CMOS Digital Logic Design, SPICE Level
Simulation and Verification, Schematic Level Design & Analysis, Circuit Level Design &
Optimization, Layout Design &Optimization &Verification, Switching Action of the Transistors used
in ICs, Description of Cadence/Mentor Graphic IC Design Tools; VHDL and Verilog Programming
& Implementation, RTL Design, Logic Level Design & Optimization, Architectural Design, FPGA
Design, Xilinxs Simulation, Verification & Process to download on FPGA/CPLD kit, Spartan-3E.
Project in VLSI for Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, Instrumentations & Bio-
engineering.

About ARTTC, Ranchi:-. This is 12 Km from Ranchi railway station. Ranchi is surrounded by hills,
waterfalls, forests, and the other places of scenic beauty. Ranchi has a pleasant weather throughout the
year. It is well connected by Road, rail and air routes with all the major cities of India. The nearest airport
and the railway station are in Ranchi. It has regular flight connectivity with New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai
and Patna.

2. Last date of registration is 5 days before of the commencement date of class of Phase1 to 3.
3. Registration will be on first come first serve basis, limited seats are available.
4. 10% discount a group of students recommended by faculties/mentors/guides of any reputed institutes.
5. Please download the Registration Form from the mail-attachment/website and send scan copy of filled
Registration Form with DD through e-mail for early registration and hardcopy by speed post to Program
Coordinator.
6. All the payment should be made through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of INDIAN SOCIETY FOR VLSI
EDUCATION payable at Ranchi
Accommodation:
Accommodations are provided in BSNL Guest House, Near Jumar River Ranchi on self payment basis
@Rs.350/- per day for students, @Rs.400/- per day for faculties, @Rs.500/- per day for Industry people
with Lunch, Dinner & Breakfast.
