Fagan Number 1
Tony Kelly
lifelong activist on local issues, former
Chairperson of East Wall Residents Association
Gaye has always been an active
member of our community and has been
involved in many campaigns. I am
delighted that she is running for council
because I know she will give her heart and
soul to the job!
Caitriona Ni Cassaithe (Cassidy)
community activist, local teacher,
member of East Wall History Group
I was delighted to hear that
Gaye was selected to run in the
local elections as I have
worked alongside her on a

already have a local T.D.

fantastic it would be to

LYNN
BOYLAN
YOUR DUBLIN EU CANDIDATE
Lynn Boylan is your Dublin candidate
in the European elections in May. Lynn
is a Dubliner, whose family originally
came from the Inner City and later
moved to Tallaght. She is a graduate
of UCD in Environmental Conservation
Management. Since graduating from
college she has taught ecology to
primary and secondary school
students.
Explaining why she decided to run
for Europe Lynn says I got sick and
tired of people telling us we should be
grateful for Europe bailing us out. We
bailed banks out, including European
banks, and were going to be paying
for it for a long time if we dont stand
up for ourselves. We need MEPs
putting the Irish people first and
building alliances across other
countries and I want to be part of that.
Troidfidh Lynn do chinne agus
seasfaidh s suas duitse agus don
phobal.

MARY LOU McDONALD
So much for the democratic revolution promised by the
Labour party and Fine Gael when they came into
government. Remember the promises that everything
would be different? Well theyre not. Its been business as
usual for this government - not so different from Fianna Fil
after all the hype.
The news that Irish Water - established to charge citizens
for water - had spent 50 million on consultants was really
shocking to everyone except Minister Phil Hogan. He wasnt
shocked, he didnt know or care how much was spent. He
doesnt micro- manage Irish water after all.
The discovery that a small number of top executives in
charitable organisations were receiving top up payments,
massive salaries and big pensions caused huge public anger
- rightly so. The Labour/Fine Gael Government had sat on
their hands, failing to regulate charities properly until
public opinion forced them into action.
The Public Accounts Committee of which I am a member
has forced the hand of government and the top cats in
these organisations to come clean on their spending of
public money. There has been huge resistance, there have
been resignations most recently Angela Kerins, CEO of
REHAB but the committee has stood our ground.
The people of Dublin elected Sinn Fin TDs to protect your
interests as citizens, service users and taxpayers. We will
continue with this work to the best of our ability.
