In a time where ethical values have become blurred, todays generation is
quickly losing the principal of goodwill in their communities. The goal of the
Good Samaritan Scholarship of South ast !os "ngeles is to foster and promote
this timeless principal among college bound students in !os "ngeles schools.
Thus, our endeavor is to empower these individuals to impact our society through
advanced education and giving back to their community.

About Us
The founders are (avier and )artha *odrigue+, who have been active in ministry
since ,--,. (avier *odrigue+ is the .resident of *isco Insurance Services Inc. (avier
started his business career in the insurance industry in,-/,. )artha is a dynamic
Spirit$filled public speaker and mother of four. Their calling is to e#hort individuals to
0go higher1 in their God ordained purpose in life.

Good Samaritan Scholarship
Qualifications
The Good Samaritan Scholarship is a monetary award that shall be used to provide scholarship
assistance to students who demonstrate community leadership, academic merit, and financial need.
"pplications can be obtained at the beginning of each school year. 4See below6
Criteria
,. The applicant must have a minimum %.7 academic grade point average.
%. The student must provide a copy of their high school transcripts and:or transcript from the last
school attended.
5. The applicant must complete a Personal Statement describing, 0;hat it means to be a <Good
Samaritan.1 .lease describe your goals and achievements, and why you believe you should be
chosen to receive the Good Samaritan Scholarship. =ou may describe any community
involvement you have volunteered for to support your statement.
'. The applicant must complete and submit an application form by (une %, %&,'.
7. The applicant must be a graduating senior of a public high school in the Los Angeles School
District for the current year.
9. The applicant must show proof of acceptance to an accredited college or university.
8. "ll scholarship packages must be complete. "ny incomplete packages will not be considered for
an award.
Note
The Personal Statement is the most important part of the application process. .lease take time to
submit a statement that includes all relevant information. 4See >5 in 02riteria1 above6.

Notification and Payment of Award
Selected recipients will be notified prior to the @all 2014 semester. Aalf of the payment award will be
available during the @all semester and the other half during the Spring semester. *ecipients must submit
their class schedule, and a 5.% grade point average must be maintained in order for payment to be made.

Scholarship Overview:
Educational scholarships are granted to college bound students.
The purpose of the scholarship is to pay for a portion of the costs of college tuition. For
example, those attending a Junior College are awarded $5.!",., and those
attending a #!year $ni%ersity are awarded $".!#,..
&ecipient winners will be personally notified of their award either by $nited 'tates mail,
or by telephone.
(n order to be eligible for a scholarship, candidates must be graduating from a )*$'+
,igh 'chool, and will attend an accredited -unior college or a #!year uni%ersity.
'pecific criteria for scholarships are that recipients must pro%e to ha%e a financial need
and must exhibit leadership ser%ice s.ills by being in%ol%ed in his or her community.
The number of grants awarded will be based on the annual budget.
'cholarships are based on the type of college the student will attend i.e. a -unior
college or #!year uni%ersity.
The scholarship will be paid directly to the college or uni%ersity of the student/s choice.
The student must pro%ide proof of enrollment at the college or uni%ersity. *ll
scholarship monies will be made payable to the school on behalf of the student.
