Dear Sir:

Greetings!

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the privilege you have given me
for being one of the students who have been enjoying the scholarship. My family and I are truly grateful for this
blessing you have extended to us. I am now a sophomore, BS Physics student of the College of Arts and Sciences,
Silliman University. I was awarded a Portal Scholarship by the SSAD which enabled me in receiving 75% discount
in my tuition fee and 25% work grant, that Ill be receiving starting the first semester of the School Year 2011-2012.

During the previous semester, I am still and slightly curious about what this prestigious university has to offer me.
So, I was able to explore more myself as I experienced a lot of activities in line with my course and the school as
well. I actively involved myself in the Junior Philippine Physics Society which enriched and sharpen more my
knowledge and skills of my chosen course. I was elected as their Public Relation Officer which incredibly helped me
honed my potential abilities during the Hibalag week. Despite the fact that our society didnt have a booth, we still
found our way to celebrate Founders week through inviting high school students to ou department and taught them
the real essence of Physics. Then, I had given a chance to direct and lead a group for a speech choir contest to be
performed at Luce Auditorium. This greatly developed my sense of leadership and discipline. Most importantly, I
have served the College of Arts and Sciences-Guidance Office as a hardworking student assistant in which my usual
task is to tutor Math and Science for free to those students who find hard in understanding the aforementioned
subjects. It is so grateful that I was able to share my god-given knowledge to them.

With all the wisdom I have gained in the previous semester, I would like to thank you once again for being a part of
my college life as a blessing to me and my family. May God continue to use you as an instrument of His love and
will!

Respectfully yours,
