INTRODUCTION
The Kiwanis Club of Athelstone acknowledges the value of the "Invocation" as an expression of
gratitude and blessing related to a force or forces beyond our control and comprehension. owever! as
part of an international! humanitarian organisation! it seeks to make the invocation a celebration of our
shared humanity and our diversity as individuals.
"e have been careful! in the following collection of invocations! to avoid discriminatory terms and titles
relating to gender! belief or race.
#o titles of address have been used in the following pages. owever! members may wish to add an
appropriate title to suit the occasion. ere are some titles in common use.

An alternative for those who wish to remain within a tighter belief structure is to commence by saying
something like

use a title that you are familiar with in your religion.
