NEWSLETTER
Wow here it is already July. There is so much happening this
month, Grand Lodge Convention in New Orleans, a Lewiston
Lodge New Member initiation on the 11
th
and on the 26
th
our first
Lobster/Steak feed of the summer. The ticket prices has not
changed, $15 for two lobsters, Baked Potato, Corn on the Cob,
Cole Slaw and dessert or $12 for a steak with the same fixings.
What a great deal and a great way to support your Lodge. Dont
forget you will receive 5 FREE raffle tickets to win 10 lobsters
(1 set per person) with a donation of a new unwrapped toy for a
child from 0 to 12 for our Kids X-mas Party.

Last month I had the honor to install two Welcome to Lewiston Elk signs.
One is located on Lisbon St as you enter the city from Lisbon and the other is
on Main St as you enter the city from Greene. Brother Paul Robinson has
worked very hard over the last three years to get these signs approved by the
City and then had made by the Sign Shack of Maine at his own cost. When
you see Paul be sure to thank him for his generous donation and determina-
tion to get this job done for his Lodge.

Also in June, I was invited by the City of Auburn to represent the Lewis-
ton Elks Lodge at their Flag Day celebration that was held on June 14th.
This is the second year that I have done this and am proud to have been
able to speak about the Elks and what we stand for at such a wonderful
event.

The Lewiston Lodge held our Flag Day Ceremony on
June 15
th
. The turnout was fantastic with Representatives
from Senator Collins and Congressman Michauds office
reading official letters to the Lodge and representatives
from the State of Maine and both Lewiston and Auburn
in attendance. The Daughters of the American Revolu-
tion also were there to explain the 13 folds of the Flag,
which has become a Lewiston Elks Lodge tradition. Special thanks to Winnifred Gray ,
Belinda Ashworth, Steve Hussey and to everyone who carried a Flag or brought food for our
buffet, events like this could not happen without your help.

I again want to thank a few people who have donated time, items and/or funds to help our
Lodge. Ann Jagger my sister-in law from North Carolina sent us a new Keurig Coffee Pot
with all kinds of coffee, Jason Kramer for the keeping our lawn looking great, Don & Tesa
Aube for the donation of Chinet plates (which we are always in need of), Claire Pinette for
Pizza Night and other stuff, and so many others who continue to give generously. I cannot
say Thank You enough.

I usually use this space to describe an Elk Ceremony that will take place during the month. There are no lodge events
that are required by Grand Lodge in July, I believe due to the fact that the National Convention is held this month.

The Lewiston Elks Lodge this year was honored to
sponsor the Oak Hill Softball team with a sign for the
field. If you get a chance check them outI am sure
they are doing fantastic.


The bathroom committee has been meeting regularly and the plans are
looking great. We are almost at our $10,000 goal just another $ 1,800
and the Lobby Bathrooms will be renovated. Thank you to Louis and
Laurie Ouellette and all the committee for staying on top of this and
adding value to our Lodge.

If you havent had a chance to stop by on a Friday
night for dinner, dancing an Karaoke you are miss-
ing a great time. Stop by and see what the excite-
ment is all aboutyou wont regret it.
