Going to the doctor is never fun but, the concept of simply walking into a doctors office is beyond imaginable
in a country where there is approximately 1 doctor available for every 9,100 people. Currently, less than 46%
of the people in the DRC have access to clean drinking water and because of that, sickness and malnutrition
are the leading causes of premature death. In places like Nebobongo,
many children are dying of Malaria every
day. The medical supplies that are
desperately needed often get stuck in
customs.
An MAF pilot living in the area ended
up piloting a flight to deliver these vital
vaccinations. He had to remove 100 litres
of fuel to make sure he had enough space in
the aircraft. When he landed, he was
informed that the hospital had 88 children
in a 22-bed childrens ward waiting for the
cargo. The doctor confessed that many of
them would have died if it wasn't for
MAF's lifesaving delivery.
Sometimes, the need is overwhelming and
you can question just how much of an
impact you can really make, but we believe that every life is given from
God and has a purpose, a destiny and the power to positively impact the
life of another. We are proud to be a part of an organization that
believes that every life makes a difference and that every life is worth

Its hard to believe that it has almost been 2
months since we left for Quebec City! With
language training, moving into our new
apartment, and becoming familiar with our new
home, time is flying (excuse the bad aviation
pun).
For those of you that speak two (or more
languages) our hats are off to you. We have a
newfound respect for those who have walked in
our shoes! It has been humbling, (to say the
least ) but for the most part though, people have been patient with us
and seem to enjoy our attempts at communication!
We are grateful for those in our ministry support team who
continue to stand behind us! Thank you so much for encouraging
us! Without you, none of this would be possible, so thank you so
much again!
Gods faithfulness and provision continues to amaze us! We found out a month
before moving that appliances (i.e fridge, stove etc) are not included in apartments
in Quebec and we would need to supply our own. Since we have always rented where
those appliances were provided, we didnt have our own and we were unsure how we
were going to afford to purchase these before we moved. The day before we left
Ontario, a close group of friends felt called to pool their money and give it to us as
a housewarming gift! They were unaware that even on our way to their house, we
were asking God to provide a way for us to buy these items. The amount we
received not only helped us buy a fridge and stove, but also a dishwasher and dryer!
We were also blessed by a friend who gave us a washing machine!
