1 skein each bright yellow and dark brown Caron simply soft yarn and a size
F hook
or
1 skein each bright yellow and dark brown Red Heart worsted weight yarn
and a size G hook
2 12 or 15 mm black safety eyes
2 tiny dark brown heart buttons for nostrils (use brown yarn to embroider
nostrils on if giving this to a baby)
polyester stuffing

Finished size is 14-15 tall.

This pattern is crocheted in the round unless stated otherwise. Mark the last
stitch of each row with a stitch marker. Do not turn.

Pin nose on face to aid in the placement of the safety eyes. Add safety
eyes to head now, then remove nose and stuff head. The nose will be
sewn on later. Sew head and body together.

Hold the head and body piece on a flat surface. Pin the front legs to
body using picture as a reference. Feet should rest evenly on the floor,
body upright. Sew in place. Pin the back legs to sides of body, close to
front legs, making sure the sides of legs rest on the floor. Sew in place. If
you want the front legs to stay upright and not slide out, you can tack
the lower leg to the body with a bit of leftover yarn. Hide ends.

Ears (make 2)

7. With yellow, repeat steps 1-5 but do not finish off. Put both pieces
wrong sides together, put hook through next sc on yellow and in any
sc on brown. Sc around through both pieces (29 sc) and leave the last
st unworked. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
8. Pinch the bottom of the ear with the yellow on the outside where you
just finished off, and sew a few stitches to keep it looking pinched.
Secure well, then pin ears to head and sew in place.

Knobbys Between Ears (make 2)
1. With brown, ch 2, 6 sc in 2

ch from hook

5. sl st in next st, finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
6. Stuff and pin to head, sew in place.

Stuff and sew nose on now. Use a pen to mark where you want the
nostrils to be and sew them on.

5. Pin spots to doll to your liking, then sew in place along edges.

Tail
Cut 6 strands of yellow, about 2 feet long. Using a larger crochet hook, pull
the yarn through the bottom middle on back. Even both sides out and
separate into 3 four strand sections and braid to the desired length. Knot at
the end and trim.
