NURSING ASSOCIATIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines
RENAP was conferred on June 20, 2002 as an Accredited Nursing Specialty
Organization in the Philippines by the PRC, BON and Nursing Specialty Certification
Council.
MISSION:
To advance the professional development of the registered nurses practicing and
interested in nephrology, transplantation and related therapies and to promote the
highest standards of patient care.
VISION:
To represent a professional atmosphere through teamwork, support, dedication,
communication, leadership and pride of members.

Philippine Nurses Association of the Philippines (PNA)
Founded on September 2, 1922 as Filipino Nurses Association (FNA) in a meeting of 150
nurses presided by then Anastacia Giron Tupas (Mrs. Tupas), the FNA was incorporated in
1924. The International Council of Nurses accepted the FNA as one of the member
organizations during the Congress held in Montreal, Canada on July 8-13, 1929. The FNA
became the PNA (Philippine Nurses Association) in 1966, which was the same year that the
office at 1663 F.T. Benitez Street, Malate, Manila was inaugurated.
The PNA is the only accredited professional organization recognized by the Professional
Regulation Commission (PRC). Registered Nurses are mandated by Republic Act 9173
(Philippine Nursing Act of 2002) to be a member of the PNA to be able to practice their
profession in the Philippines.
MISSION:
1. Zealously provide strategic directions and programs that enhance the competencies of
nurses to be globally competitive.
2. Passionately sustain the quality work life and collegial interactions with and among nurses.
3. Continuously strengthen the internal capacity and capabilities for quality care and services of
the nurses.
4. Enthusiastically explore possibilities of collaboration towards unification of nurses.

growth and development of world class Filipino nurses, Filipinos and people of the world.

Operating Room Nurses Association of the Philippines (ORNAP)
ORNAP is a non-stock, non-political, and non-sectarian organization, with the following
objectives:
To unite perioperative nurses of the Philippines.
To promote the highest professional standards of perioperative nursing practice for the
optimum care of patients.
To provide opportunity for continuous learning through diversified educational activities.
To exchange information and disseminate research findings in the field of perioperative
nursing.
To establish linkages with government and non-government professional organizations,
healthcare and teaching facilities, research organizations, and the like relative to the
goals of the association.
Life Purpose
To promote the highest professional standard of Perioperative Nursing.
VISION
We envision ourselves as an organization of competent and dynamic perioperative nurses
committed to innovation and provision of optimum perioperative services locally and
internationally.
MISSION
Develop/cultivate the highest professional standard in perioperative nursing through education
and research activities.
Collaborate with health care partners and other associations for development and training.
Sustain a harmonic professional relationship among members.
Enhance value centered decision making strategies.


Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines (ANSAP)
The Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines (ANSAP) is a duly-
recognized (accredited) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) provider by the Professional
Regulation Commission Board of Nursing (PRC-BON) and specialty organization of the
Philippine Nurses Association (PNA).
ANSAP is the ONLY nursing organization mandated to administer and accredit basic IVT
training for registered nurses.
MISSION
Advocate models in leadership skills to transform nursing leaders to become working enzymes.
Respond elegantly (with precision, neatness and simplicity) to change and development in
nursing leadership.
Ensure the sustainability and viability of the Association.
VISION
A cohesive, pro-active professional association committed to excellence in nursing.

Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN)
Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN) is a non-stock, non-profit
organization with the Deans of different Colleges of Nursing as members and is a duly-
recognized specialty organization of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA).
VISION
As an association, it envisioned itself as innovative, competent and empowered in leading
institutions achieve excellence in nursing education for national and global development.
MISSION
Its mission is to develop transformational leadership and strengthen management competence
among deans and faculty; to advocate faithful adherence to the ethico-legal-moral standards of
the nursing profession and to the ADPCN Code of Ethics; provide services through continuous
improvements in the nursing curriculum, instructional strategies, research capabilities; and to
create conductive cultural and collegial relationships among deans, faculty and students.
