ALL STUDENTS Students please remember to follow the dress code. Straps must be wider than 2 inches;
shorts must be mid-thigh, no holey pants, no oversized shirts. No red on red. Dress code
is being strictly enforced and the consequence is Saturday School.



IMP There will be an IMP meeting at lunch at 12:45 in room 1505. We will be discussing tutoring
and trip plans.


LIBRARY NEWS Every year, there are hundreds of attempts to ban books from schools and libraries. Come
celebrate YOUR freedom to read and right to choose your book at SHS library this week
during Banned Book Week. This week, the SHS library will have on display a number of
banned booksexcept for one book. Try to guess which book wasnt banned to win a prize.
Check it out and protect your right to read!


TEACHER OF THE Ms. Luviano is the Teacher of the week. The students chose her because she is outgoing.
WEEK She is a person to talk to if you need to vent or have a problem. Dont forget to vote for
your favorite teacher in the student office.



KEY CLUB Key Club Meeting today during lunch! Meeting starts at 12:40-1:11 in room 1508. Bring
your lunch in, and join us for elections. Sticker-Pull fundraiser cards and money are due!

ACADEMIC We will be having an academic mentor meeting on Thursday, September 25
th
at 12:50 in
MENTORS the girls locker room. Bring your lunch! If you are interested in being an academic
mentor, but didnt fill out an application make sure you are at this meeting.


CLUB LATINO Well be having a club meeting Thursday, September 25 at the beginning of lunch in
Mexican Dance room 317. Please be prompt. Well be discussing fieldtrip, t-shirts and board
members.


JUNIOR CLASS There will be a junior class meeting after school Friday, September 26
th
in the Dining Hall to
MEETING talk about our homecoming float. Everyone is welcome to attend; this is a really fun event
and it takes a lot of people to make it happen!



LIBRARY The library will be closed next week for CELDT testing during first through sixth period,
including lunch time. But will reopen after school for the after school program.



BEARS FIGHTING Bears fighting cancer club meeting today during lunch in room 706 @ 12:45.

GSA Attention GSA club members: There will be a meeting TODAY during lunch at 12:40 in
room 2307. Grab your lunch and head over. We will begin promptly at 12:40.



CELL PHONES & Please be respectful of the NO cell phone & IPOD rule from 8 AM 3:30 PM. If your cell
IPODS phone is confiscated; A Parent/guardian must come to Selma High to pick up the item. No
excuses. Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules.



GIRLS SOCCER Please get your physical done ASAP! You dont want to miss any training when it starts.



FOOTBALL PICS Football pictures are in and may be picked up at the athletic window with Ms. Bonilla.




STUDENT PARKING All students who drive to school need to obtain a parking permit! You can pick up an
PERMIT application in the front office with Mrs. Salinas or see Lucy. There is no cost for a parking
permit and only need a copy of their Drivers License and current insurance card.




LINK CREW Attention Link Leaders: Dont forget about your Freshmen! Please remember to stay in
touch and remind them of the upcoming events. Whats the one thing that most seniors
say by the time their seniors? I wish I would have been more involved! Inspire your
freshmen and every student on campus to make the most of every moment and dont live
with the regret of waiting too long to get involved. Your time here at SHS goes fast and the
memories will last a lifetime!








PSAT Attention all 9

graders, come and sign up for the October 15

PSAT. Today
is the last day to sign up for the test. Sign up at the student office. Remember to pick up
your PSAT Test Prep booklet. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Reed in the LD office.
The cost is $15.00 and you can pay at the debt window.




RISING Rising Generation/Bible Club will be meeting TODAY in room 2310 at 12:45. See you there!
