HIGH SCHOOL ADVENTURES
Televisa Internacional and Cartoon Network are co-producing La CQ, a live-
action comedy series based on an original story by Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo. Currently
in production in Venezuela, program tells the story of a group of kids starting high
school, and all the adventures, trouble and challenges theyll have to go through in
this stage of their lives. The project will have digital components and mobile platforms,
as well as the possibility of live shows and licensing opportunities (80 x 30).

ZDF & STUDIO HAMBURG FORM JOINT VENTURE
Studio Hamburg Distribution & Marketing and ZDF Enterprises have formed a
joint venture under the name of Studio Hamburg Enterprises GmbH (SHE),
focusing on purchasing the rights for feature films and television programs, especially
for the DVD/Blu-ray market. In addition, SHE will develop activities in the field of
archive material and will market the joint film stock of approximately 1,500 titles,
which represents a significant part of ARD and ZDF's contribution to German
television history. DVD releases of titles from the current schedules of both
broadcasting groups will also be handled by SHE.

ASYLUM TEAMS WITH ZODIAK


Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media, has signed a two-year
development deal with Los Angeles-based Asylum Entertainment. Under the deal
Zodiak Rights becomes Asylums international and distribution partner, providing
Asylum an outlet for its formats through Zodiaks worldwide network of production
companies. The deal covers Asylums non-scripted formats and finished program
sales. The first Asylum programme to roll out from the deal will be Travel Unraveled
(10 x 30) clip series for Travel Channel in the US.

TIMELESS ANIME SERIES


Toei Animation is celebrating the 25th year of its perennial series, Saint Seiya, by
introducing a brand new television series to global buyers this spring. Saint Seiya
(Omega) is the first time a new series has been produced since 2008. Along with
the new series, Toei Animation is developing a CGI animated film based on the
property. Together, these new projects will be known collectively as the Masami
Kurumada Project, in honor of Saint Seiyas original creator. Saint Seiya is a
timeless masterpiece following the adventures of a group of youths clad in Cloth, a
mystical armor.

EXPANDING RELATIONSHIP
Zodiak USA and truTV are expanding their relationship, with truTV ordering
additional episodes of Zodiak USAs Hardcore Pawn and Lizard Lick Towing,
as well as a new series, Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg. Set to premiere later this
year on truTV, Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg will offer a very different look at the
pawn business, focusing almost entirely on weapons and military equipment.
Program goes behind the scenes at a truly unique pawn store, Guns Plus. Located
next to the legendary military base, Guns Plus is staffed by military veterans,
including ex-Marines and Special Ops soldiers, who have amazing first-hand

BLACK HISTORY MONTH


Janson Media is celebrating Black History Month with a variety of documentaries
saluting the achievements of African-Americans. Titles include: The Wereth
Eleven, an ambitious docudrama based on the true story of eleven African-
American soldiers who were ruthlessly murdered by the Nazi SS during the Battle of

Following the journey of how a little girl from the projects of Newark, New J ersey
became a queen, Queen Latifah, Unauthorized tracks her rise to success in
hip hop, jazz and on the silver screen. Film reveals how Queen Latifah (also
known as Dana Owens) has built an entertainment empire amidst adversity,
including the death of her brother. Viewer will learn what inspired Queen Latifah
to become one of the most talented African American females in history (60).

LEGAL THRILLER
Voltage Pictures is producing Puncture, a legal thriller in the vein of Erin
Brockovich. Based on a true story, film follows a one-of-a-kind rebel lawyer who

BROADWAY MUSICAL
The Fremantle Corporation has announced that it has acquired the
international distribution rights to Memphis, a Tony award-winning Broadway
musical that features songs written by Bon J ovis keyboardist and founding
member, David Bryan. The two-hour musical special event, produced by
Broadway Worldwide, will be presented to the international marketplace for the
first time at MIP-TV in high definition (120).

MORE HUMAN
Syfy Channel (US) has ordered a third season of the drama Being Human.
Series stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington as vampire Aidan,
ghost Sally and werewolf J osh who share the creature comforts of home in a
Boston brownstone. Together the three roommates struggle to keep their
supernatural secrets and resist individual temptations as they strive to live lives

BIBLICAL EPIC
The next installment of lavish costume dramas based on stories from the Bible,

LOVE AND REVENGE
A new production by Carlos Moreno, Valiant Love (Amor Bravo) is a stunning
and passionate story featuring themes of resentment, distrust and the thirst for

DYING MOBSTER
Produced by Tea, Earl Grey, How Productions, Suspicion tells the story of
Darrell J acobs, a retired mobster living in Phoenix. As cancer consumes him, he
quietly runs out the clock, roaming downtown daily and frequenting his favorite caf.
Young waitress Alicia Foret, a law student at ASU, is intrigued by the mysterious
regular and follows him home. They quickly form a friendship that puts Alicia in
danger, and forces Darrell to finalize any unfinished business. Alicias boyfriend Tom
does not approve of their friendship and has the pair followed. Toms discovery of
Darrells true identity puts him in a state of panic. Not for the safety of his girlfriend,

CHINA BADMINTON SUPER LEAGUE
The Chinese Badminton Association and IEC in Sports have extended cooperation to
distribute the broadcast of the China Badminton Super League on a worldwide basis.
Dates for the league are provisionally from late August until December 2012 over 8-10
weeks and will feature eight teams based in major Chinese cities, playing in a league
format. China hosts an annual club-based league featuring all national squad players and

IEC in Sports has reached an agreement for the Ostrava Golden Spike track and field

Offering a reevaluation of one of historys most-maligned characters, How Nero Saved
Rome examines Emperor Neros contributions to the eternal city. In J uly of 64 AD, a fire

years he has been accused of fiddling while Rome burned. Program reveals that in the
