Following the foods / landslides across Uttarakhand in June 2013, the Tata group, through the Tata Relief o!!ittee
has "een acti#el$ in#ol#ed in the relief and reha"ilitation of the a%ected fa!ilies& The initiati#es in this regard are
"eing rolled out through the Tata Uttarakhand 'rogra! ()TU'*+ with the o",ecti#e of ensuring a structured approach
towards relief and reha"ilitation& The initial phase of the progra! focused on !eeting relief re-uire!ents and
!edical assistance, wherein around 11,000 "ene.ciaries were co#ered across the / !ost a%ected districts&
The su"se-uent phase of the progra! is focused on long ter! reha"ilitation in speci.c #illage clusters in
Rudrapra$ag, Uttarkashi and 'ithoragarh districts& This phase co!prises inter#entions across !ultiple the!es like
reconstruction, #ocational training, enterprise "ased li#elihoods, education and health / nutrition with an underl$ing
o",ecti#e of ena"ling "etter coping !echanis!s for target co!!unities in a geologicall$ #ulnera"le region& The
inter#entions are "eing planned across a ti!efra!e of 30 !onths and are at #arious stages of design /
i!ple!entation& 1 2e!orandu! of Understanding ()2oU*+ has "een signed with the 3tate 4o#ern!ent to la$out
the fra!ework and ad!inistrati#e linkages for reha"ilitation&
