AP World History 3d Quarter Project 2008: Create a DBQ

Students will be assigned a topic from the list below. Using this topic, students will
develop a DBQ essay prompt and DBQ essay question. The essay question and
prompt will follow eactly the !" #orld $istory format. %ou will have to include at
least & and not more than '( document ecerpts for your DBQ question. Document
ecerpts can be relevant quotations, maps, tetboo) entries, histories, statistical
charts, photos, paintings *or other relevant art+ cartoons, etc. "referably, you will
provide a mi of different document types. Tet documents should be short, not more
than a paragraph or two. #ith each document, you must also identify the source, the
time and,or date that the document was produced, and,or the time or date to which the
document refers.
%ou will be assigned a topic by printing this document out, pic)ing a document from
the list *underline or circle+, plus two alternates, and submitting it to me *with your
name on it+ in class. -irst come, first served. Deadline to choose a topic is -ebruary

!fter putting together your DBQ with the documents, you will also provide a sample
answer. This answer should follow the !" #orld $istory rubric, be typed, single
spaced in a '/ font. The answer should not eceed two pages. !ll pages will then be
stapled together, with the DBQ Question at the beginning, followed by your
documents, and finally your suggested DBQ !nswer.
