<salutations>First and utmost I would like to thank Gamuda for selecting us for the

prestigious gamuda Scholarship to pursue our tertiary education. Today we are here to
celebrate enthusiasm, commitment and sheer hard work presented group of the scholars who
are sitting here today.
As we all know, Gamuda Berhad is the leading infrastructure and property developer
with operations in Asia and the Middle East Regions. Focusing on three core businesses in
Engineering and Construction, Infrastructure Concessions and Property Development.
Amongst all of the construction companies out there one would question, what make Gamuda
much different than the others? Well the difference is Gamuda have transformed
communities with mega developments such as the internationally-acclaimed Stormwater
Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) in Malaysia; the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Mass
Rapid Transit in Taiwan; Sitra Causeway Bridges in Bahrain; Dukhan Highway and New
Doha International Airport in Qatar; Durgapur and Panagarh-Palsit Expressways in India, as
well as Gamuda City and Celadon City in Vietnam.
Besides focusing on construction we also see Gamuda endeavours to enrich the
communities by positively changing the way people live and contribute to nation building
through continuous education and training. Gamuda is not only known as a platform to
provide financial aid but also to mould the potential of young Malaysians. As for us sitting in
this hall, Gamuda may also be the kickstart for our careers too.
With the opportunity to stand on this stage I would like to emphasize on a few matter
to my fellow scholars. With the increasing number of competition especially in the field of
engineering, I urge fellow scholars to not thrive only in education but also posses the relevant
skills compromising of management, softskills and human relation skills. I also urge scholars
not to be too complacent upon the completion of our tertiary studies. We have must put in
mind that engineering is a lifelong learning itself. The engineering environment is constantly
changing in fast pace. Thus we should be capable to recognise and adapt towards changes
that is constantly occurring in our working environment in engineering.
This scholarship provides us chance to give back to others in the future. Remember
that we wouldnt be sitting in here in this wonderful banquet hall (depending on hall) without
the support of our parents, friends and loved ones. You are here today you are able to turn
disappointment, anguish and hardwork into success. But alas, the journey doesnt stops here.
