The Charity Committee is comprised of the Charity Commissioners (as Co-Chairs), the President (as Vice-Chair), and other members of the Western undergraduate science and basic medical sciences student body. The mission of the committee, as outlined by the Constitution of the Science Students Council, is to assist the Charity Commissioners with the organization and execution of all Council charity activities. For the upcoming academic year, the SSC Charity has pledged to support the Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario. The Ronald McDonald House strives to provide a welcoming, supportive and secure environment to out-of-town families of seriously ill or injured children who are in London receiving medical treatment for their child. Volunteer Coordinator(x2): Recruit and organize volunteers for house visits, events and initiatives within the Charity portfolio.
Volunteer Representative: Be the voice of the volunteers to the committee through surveys and other methods.
Clubs liaison: Promote the committees initiatives to club presidents throughout campus encouraging their involvement.
Promotions Manager(x2): Promote the Ronald McDonald House and committee events around campus, with the goal of raising awareness.
Media awareness Coordinator: Work with the entire committee to create multimedia to promote the Charity portfolio within Western and the entire London community.
Events Manager: brainstorm and facilitate the charity committees events.
First Year Representative: Be the voice of first year students involvement with charity.
Sponsorship Coordinator: Seek potential sponsorship for the SSC charity committee and or the Ronald McDonald House of Southerwestern Ontario directly.
