NOTIFICATION REGARDING BOILER OPERATION ENGINEERS EXAMINATION
The Boiler Operation Engineers Examination Board has decided to conduct the next Boiler
Operation Engineers Examination. The exact date and place of the said examination will be decided
depending on the number of applications received from the deserved candidates from various
districts of the state. The candidates desirous of appearing for the said examination, may obtain the

by sending a requisition with self addressed Rs. 10/- postal stamp affixed envelope. Alternately the
applications may be downloaded from website www.karnataka.gov.in/surakshate or
www.labour.kar.nic.in . The application may also be collected from the Divisional offices of the
Department situated at Mysore (0821-2514549), Mangalore (0824-2454982), Davangere (08192-
234707), Hubli (0836-2363225), Belgaum (0831-2421292) Gulbarga (08472-220620) and Shimoga
(08182-224508)
The Qualification and Experience required for a candidate to appear for examination is as
follows.
Age , Qualification and Experience

1. Age : Shall not be less than 23 Years
2.(a)Qualifications and Experience : Possesses a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or
Electrical or Chemical or Power Plant or Production or Instrumentation Engineering from a
recognized Institution.
(b) Has served for not less than two years in case of Degree holders and for five years in case of
Diploma holders in Operation and/ or Maintenance of a Boiler of not less than 1000 Sq
Meters Heating Surface**
OR
A battery of boilers of not less than 1000 Sq Meters Heating Surface in aggregate out of
which at least one boiler is of not less than 500 Sq Meters Heating Surface.
** For degree or post graduate diploma holders from National Power Training Institute
requirement of minimum working experience is one year..
The candidate desirous of appearing for above examination shall pay Rs. 1500/- towards
Examination fee by way of Demand Draft in favour of The Director of Factories and Boilers
in Karnataka payable at Bangalore. Examination fee may also be remitted by Treasury
Challan paid into the Head of account 0230 Labour and Employment, 103 Fee for
Inspection of Steam Boilers.
The last date for receipt of duly filled application form is 20-12-2013.
