Dear Associates,
I hope everyone had a great New Year! Thank
you so much for all of your hard work over the past
few months. Some departments have broken their
sales records! In order to continue growing our
business, not only here at our Cortlandt Manor store
but throughout the company, we have to maintain and
improve two things: Customer service and store sales.
Now, how are we going to increase store sales? Well
as you may have noticed we have WOW! Signs on
certain product to really grab the customers attention
items; overhead announcements for items we have to
push like our chicken wings over super bowl. By
doing these things get the customer to add that extra
buck in the basket!

The most important aspect to grow our business is to
demonstrate exceptional customer service. Customers
shop here because of our low prices, cleanliness and
commitment to the community and education and they
expect great customer service. If they do not get these
things when they shop at ShopRite, they will drive right
down the road to our competition. Remember to
always smile, greet the customer offer assistance if they
look lost, and walk them to the item. We want you, to
be empowered to make the right decision. If a
customer is asking for a reasonable substitution (within
$1 or $2 of item on sale) make that sub. That is just one
example of how we say yes to the customer. A
customer will leave and come back happy (and
hopefully bring some friends) knowing that you used
our 8 service commitments to please the customer
therefore, increasing store sales. Remember as an
associate here you are part of the Cortlandt Manor
family; you are the foundation of this business so if
there is anything we can do for you, dont hesitate to
ask your Store Director, Jack, any of the assistant
managers: Bob , Mike, Ronald or Nicole, your Shopper
Advocate.
