Welcome to the eighth weekly maths newsletter. We hope you had a good half term break.
During the week starting 8th December all students in Year 11 will be having a formal mock exam so doing a
bit of extra revision now will pay off!

Revision guides.
The school shop is now selling Practice Paper revision books for 2.50 each. The normal retail
price is 4.50.
These books are full of graded exam questions, and answers, for you to try. This would be an
excellent way to do some focused preparation for the December mock exam.

Fundamental Friday
Fundamental Friday is a weekly worksheet, with answers, from the maths department designed to
help students attain a C at GCSE. It is also very helpful revision for those students striving to attain
the top GCSE grades.

help students attain an A* at GCSE. Even if you arent targeting an A* please take a look as you
might be able to pick up some marks.

GCSE Fundamentals
Due to the popularity of our A Level playlists on You Tube we have decided to trial a You Tube playlist
aimed at GCSE Fundamentals. We intend to update the playlist with a new clip each week. The first clip
is looking at calculating a fraction of an amount take a look Here!

Homework
Completing work outside of the classroom is vital to attaining the best grade possible in the GCSE
exams. Students may come to see any maths teacher any day after school to get help.
Homework was set to all students on Wednesday 5th December and is due in on Monday
10th November. If the homework has been lost then it can printed out from clicking on the

It may seem a long way off but September 2015 will soon be here! Now is a good time to start
thinking about what you want to do in the 6th form speak to your maths teacher about A Level
maths.
Also, put Tuesday 11th November in your diary as this is our 6th Form Information Evening.
