1. General Information
1.1. Features

1.2. Installation Instructions


Software is available OTA (Over-The-Air)

Once installed, software


will ask you for
permission to access the
GPS device and to
communicate with
Location Server.
Please allow it.

Once installed, a new icon will appear on your home screen
indicating your current situation

1.4. Extra Functions


Click on the icon will allow you some more functionalities:
 Just for testers, you need to put the
word RIM in your owner information.
(Options  Owner  Information:)
 See the last time you was located
(latitude, longitude, date, time).
 Copy your locations. You can
paste it later on other software, like
Google Maps Mobile or in a e-mail.
 Send your location in a e-mail with
links to see the place where you are
on any PC or in other BlackBerry
devices.
 Open your location in BlackBerry
Maps.

1.5. Viewing your locations/routes


There are two methods for viewing your locations:
Web application: you only need a Browser (Internet
Explorer, FireFox) and a Internet Connection
For places where you cant install software. Ease of use.
You can see locations/route on a map, a satellite image or both.

With Google Earth, with a Network Link that refresh


automatically
You can see global positioning on satellite images of high
precision.
You can get routes from/to your actual location with a powerful
search engine.

2. Web Application - Login


You can use to the application from any machine with
internet connection, through its web interface

Once you log in, you will be able to see a summary
of the positions of the devices classified in three
groups:
Reporting (last 30 minutes)
New devices
Last report

You can locate devices or persons near an
established address (street, city, region)
Once introduced the address, the system will obtain
a series of users ordered by distances.
You will be able to:
Assign a task
Send a message that the user wont be able to ignore
Plan a route from the position of the device towards the
established address

4. Web Application Points (Access Control To Areas)


You can define points of control to notify the entry and the
exit of a device/person in a established area
These points are established searching an address or
selecting a point in the map
You can set a radius of detection and distribute points in
categories.
Once point of control is established, you can assign this
point to different users of the application
All points and accesses are saved in a database for report
generation

4.1. Web Application Permanency Points


Programming permanency points we can know if a
device is in a control point at a specified time that
we have configured previously.
The system will generate an alarm only if the
device is not in the control point at the specified
time.
In the user is in the area, no action will be taken

5. Extra Functions
5.1. Speed Control
When we add a user, we can limit his speed
The system will send an alarm if his devices exceeds the established
speed limit
The exceeded speeds will be in red in the route report

5.2. Limit the schedule of location


To ensure privacy,
we can limit the time
of location to any
schedule.
Privileged users can
pause tracking from
devic.

5.3. Calls from the application (requires Vodafone Office)


Pressing on the call icon
we will be able to make a call to
the mobile number
We must indicate the telephone number from which we want
to call

The telephony server will call this number and once the
connection is established, mobile device will be phoned

5.4. Alerts
We can send alerts to our devices from the application .
Even we can configure the parameters of the notification in the device, to make sure that the
alarm is received.
We will be able to configure the volume level, we can force the vibration and the sound, to
assign a time of answer delay
Answer will be send to the sender.
Different kind of messages: Yes/No, Ok,.

on move!
New Menu entry in BlackBerry Maps to let you see
all the information

You can navegate trought users and see detailed
information of each one.
Predictive information let you interoperate with phone
and mail, letting you call the device or send and email
without having it in your address book.
Using the route tool of BlackBerry Maps you can get
directions to drive yourself towards the real position of a
user.

8. FAQ & Troubleshooting (1/2)


After installation, I get ControlledAccessException
 Please check the permissions of the application. You need to allow:

Connections  Location (GPS)


Connections  Carrier Internet
Interactions Interprocess Communication
User Data  Email (Optional: when the application detects an unexpected
error try to send debug information to developers)

What devices can be used with this software?


 BlackBerry Devices with OS 4.2.1 and GPS 8800, 8310, or with an
external Bluetooth GPS receiver (8100 Pearl)
Who will see my movements?
 The administrator can configure any number of web/Earth users to follow
your movements, but only in the hours allowed. You will see in the icon
on home screen that you are not being located.

8. FAQ & Troubleshooting (2/2)


Added costs?
 The software use the Internet browser on the device. If you are not on a
BES, and you have a BlackBerry Internet Service data plan for e-mail
and Browser you wont pay more for this service. If you work with a
BlackBerry Enterprise Server you will communicate through it, using its
Internet Connection. Only if you use the APN, the operator can charge
you for this service, but not necessarily.
Other business functionalities?
 The application can be expanded to allow mobile users collect
information with dynamic forms and report it to a central server, relating
the information taken with the position in which it was filled. Its also
possible to assign tasks to the person nearest to where the work must
be done: taxis, ambulances, police, pick-ups, messengers companies,
