Grammar and vocabulary - Are you using a variety of grammar and vocabulary? Are you
using the grammar and vocabulary correctly? Is it right for the topic youre speaking about?
Discourse management - How much are you saying? Are you giving more than just very
short answers? Are your answers relevant to the tasks? Are your answers clear and wellorganised?
Pronunciation Is what you say clear and easy to understand? Is your intonation rising and
falling at the right times? Are you stressing the right words? Are you pronouncing individual
words and sounds clearly?
Interactive Communication - Are you listening to the other candidate and examiner, and
responding to their ideas? Are you able to develop a conversation?
Global achievement. This is a general view of how you speak. How well are you speaking
about the topics youre given? Are your answers clear without too much hesitation? Are you
able to use short and long answers to complete the different tasks? Are you using a range of
language that is right for the level?
