Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 19-21; Matthew 18

John 1:50-51 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee
under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. And he saith unto
him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God
ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas,
lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.
He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Holy Lord and Heavenly Redeemer:

I come to you today like Nathaniel of old. In childlike faith, he responded
to you as King even on limited evidence. Make those around me just as willing to
see, so they can see. It is because they shut their eyes that they become so blind.
Help me carry the light into the darkness of __________ and __________ today.
I have been given so much light. You show me great and unsearchable
things in your word. I have spiritual growth and spiritual momentum, and I praise
you. But there are greater truths and deeper experiences that await this year!
There are greater heights of fellowship to be had, greater works of ministry to be
done, greater discoveries of wisdom, power and love. There are more people to
see won, discipled, growing and trained! I will only see that if I believe.
I dont want to invent false ideas; I only want to see truth. Open heaven to
my understanding. Make the way clear in Christ. Manifest the angelic activity
between your kingdom in heaven and the kingdom of God on earth. In the midst
of all my materialism, help me keep my eyes open for spiritual objectives. Give
me an expectation to see more and more as the day of your coming approaches.
Dont let my life drivel-down into nothing as I go on. Let me always be
growing, seeing greater things than these. Because I never want to lose sight of Jesus,
and I never want to forget you have an eternal purpose to be accomplished
through all that providentially happens. You are my Lord; now let me act to make
you Lord in every area of my life, and in others livesstarting today. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 22-24; Matthew 19
Thursday, January 29
Gal. 1:4 Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this
present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

CHRIST, whose glory fills the skies, Christ, the true, the only Light,
Sun of Righteousness, arise, triumph oer the shades of night;
Dayspring from on high, be near; Day-star, in my heart appear.
Dark and cheerless is the morn unaccompanied by Thee;
Joyless is the days return till Thy mercys beams I see;
Till they inward light impart, glad my eyes, and warm my heart.
Visit then this soul of mine, pierce the gloom of sin and grief;
Fill me, Radiancy divine, scatter all my unbelief;
More and more Thyself display, shining to the perfect day.
Charles Wesley, 1740

Merciful Lord:
Teach me to support the weak. Here is Peter, the apostle with so much
potential. But before that potential could be used he had to be sifted by the
Adversary, ground as small and fine as flour, and purified of his pride.
I watched Peters fall as I read your word. Now I see the result of your
prayer: his restoration. When I see others fall, help me look on myself not as
superior, but as still inferior and say, He or she fell yesterday. I may fall today.
And if I do not fall today, I could fall tomorrow. I seldom blame myself too
much. It is a benefit to remind myself of my own failures when I notice the
stumbles of others.
The greatest proof of restoration is when you entrust me with a new work
and a new way to serve you. It is no small consolation Lord, to count all the ways
you are using mein personal witness, in our church, in discipleship, in service,
even in prayer.
Gal. 6:2 Bear ye one anothers burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
It is so much to my advantage to support the weak. Suppose I pray with
them. Then it helps me pray a little bit more than if I had prayed only for myself.
Anything that adds to my prayerfulness is clear profit.
Teach me to study your word with the goal of strengthening the
weak. It will help me understand the Bible in the best way. It will make the
scriptures practical to me, and make Jesus real to me.
Let me lift up others as I lift up your name today. Amen.

Heavenly God!
If I am crying to you to cleanse me now, let me not doubt your power to do
so. While crying, O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death
(as well I may, Rom. 7:24), I have to also shout joyously, Thanks be unto God who
giveth us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Cor. 15:57).
Look today on those who are seeking salvation, but not finding it where
they look. There are people each Sunday who hear the simple gospel, but cannot
simply trust in it and rest. Satan hinders. There may be attachment in their heart
to some pet sin. Deliver them from that infatuation! There are some who hold
onto bad company, or the attraction of an illicit passion. God, help all who are
repentant to come to you, asking to be delivered from sin in every shape and
form, and from the sugar of sin as well as the bitterness of sin. Make the soul
of all who seek you weary, till they get delivered from corruption by faith.
May we have no one in our church who is a player at salvation. Make him
or her know that Jesus saves his children from their sins. Give us a self-loathing,
not self-esteem. Give us self-contrition, not self-congratulation. Make us search
our heart with intensity, cast our soul before your face, trust in Jesus, and cry out
to be delivered from sin. May this be the day of deliverance!
Send revival, Lord. Raise up in our pews children unto Abraham. There are
men and women who seem as cold as ice. Quicken them; make them alive to sin,
and then alive to God and dead to sin, even while the word of God is preached.
Lead us to yield ourselves unto you, and yield our members unto righteousness.
Lord, grant it and we will bless your name together as we seek the growth of your
body and the glory of your Son. For so we ask it in Jesus precious name. Amen.

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 25-27; Matthew 20
Friday, January 30

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 28-30; Matthew 21:1-23
Saturday, January 31

Rev. 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man,
clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

God.

Psa. 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O

Interceding Savior:
You wear a girdle or sash of gold, because you always stand ready for
service. Right now, in front of the eternal throne, you exercise a holy ministry as a
priest, like Aaron, girt about with the curious girdle of the ephod (Exodus 28:8). You are
our interceding High Priest. Thank you for not ceasing to fulfill your office of
love for us by praying.
Lord, help us by your Spirit to follow your example and be girt around our
hearts with prayer, interceding for those we know who are still unsaved.
Your belt is never loose, as if your office were ended. You diligently carry
our cause to the Father; let us diligently carry the lost to you. To do so is to put on
the golden girdle, because to pray for souls is the superiority of all supplication.
When we pray for the lost, and pray for your Eternal Purpose, we no longer cry
out of the dust, but plead with authority based on the promises of your word.
You offer us an example. We must never take off our fanny pack, our
duty belt, our tool belt of prayer. Today is not the time for lying on the couch,
but bending on our knees. It is the season of spiritual war. Let us first cinch-up
the belt of truth, and then take the truth of the gospel to the lost. It is a golden
belt, so it will be our best attire. And we desperately need it, because a heart not
well-braced and supported by prayer for others is easily entangled by the affairs
of this life, and tripped-up by the snares of temptation.
Help us by your Spirit to surround our entire church with prayer and
concern for unbelievers. If in heaven you do not unbind your girdle for us,
much less may we for our friends. Today help us stand in supplication! Amen.

O God:
David shows me the voice of the spiritual believer who is depressed,
longing for the revival of your presence, struggling with doubts and fears, yet
holding his ground by faith. Such is my warfare in this life. Most of the Lords
family have sailed this sea; so do I.
I do not seek relief or covet honor. Just give me the joy of intimacy and
closer communion with you! That is the most urgent need of my soulmore
than any other. It is not a luxury, but a necessity of my life.
Drink or die, I must have God or faint. My soul, my self, my deepest life is
thirsty for a greater sense of your presence! And God, give me the greatest
cravings for the highest good.
Psa. 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted
within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance,
and my God.
My faith needs to reason with my fears. My hopes have to out-argue my
sorrows. After all, my present distress will not last forever, even if it lasts all my
life. Help me scold myself out of the dumps when I need to. The mist of
ignorance magnifies the fog of my depression, and I need to eliminate it.
Even if everything happens the worst that it could, there is still hope at the
bottom. Grace always swims to my aid, and your grace is the ground of my hope
today. It may be dark but day will come, and in the meantime hope carries stars in
her eyes. My light is not dependent on power from without; it is fed by secret
communion with you within. Sustain my spirit through prayer. Amen.

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

NEXT SUNDAY: SUPER SUNDAY BAPTISMS

We celebrate our 22nd birthday as a church. Sign up in the lobby if you have
trusted Christ and would like to follow him in believers baptism at 9:00 or
11:00A.M. next Sunday!

This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.

SUNDAYS, 11:00A.M. STARTING IN MARCH

Financial Peace Learn Gods way of handling money through Dave Ramseys
Financial Peace University. This class normally costs $199 but, at Harvest we
believe in investing in people, so the class is only $50 due at sign up! Class size
is limited, so first come, first served. Sign up at www.hbcbluesprings.org

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

Dont make excuses; make a difference!

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
