July 01, 2017 Matthew 17:9-21; Mark 9:9-29
Jesus told the three disciples of what they had seen on the mountain for the Scribes would have
said it was a lie. Coming down from the mountain Jesus found a man who had brought his son
with a demon and the disciples had failed to remove it for they had little faith.

July 02, 2017 Luke 9:37-45


After removing the demon Jesus to his disciples that in some cases it is necessary for them to fast
so as to get enough power to be able to handle some of the matters in our lives.

God allows certain problem to fall on us and lets the whole world see them happen to us so that
when he delivers us the world will notice his power. All we need to do is cast ourselves at the
feet of the Saviour and experience his saving power.

Many often neglect children and think that the important matters of life involve adults only yet
Christ seeing the minds of his disciples said to them whosoever shall receive the child in his
name will be receiving Christ.

Christ’s ministry is that of servant-sheep and thus he requires that all who seek to enter the
kingdom should be servants and work for the salvation of others. Just like Christ died for us we
should lift up his light even if it means death.

July 06, 2017 Matthew 18:1-35


Many a times we offend children and in some cases cause them to sin and yet Christ is so
particular about these children and hence many people might miss heaven because of deeds that
we deem are so small.

The issue of meeting our obligations to our authorities might seem wrong but just like Christ
paid tribute we also ought to meet such obligations.

Christ is our great teacher and each of us should humbly submit to Christ’s will and diligent
study of God’s word will lead us to the feet of the master to learn more from him.

We are not to judge or condemn others but in love we have to show them Christ and let them
learn from Him. We should make no effort to justify ourselves.

Christ never attended the Jewish schools and yet at the feast of Tabernacles when he taught the
Jews were astonished t how well he knew, understood and interpreted the Holy Scriptures.

Christ’s brothers reasoned from a selfish motive and hence they were offended by the fact that
Jesus had declared himself as the bread of life and when many left Jesus they were disappointed
greatly for they hoped he would become king soon.

Jesus address at the feast of Tabernacles was in a manner no man had ever heard before showing
great knowledge in the law and in the institution of Israel’s sacrifice services and the Prophets
such that if any man thirst for knowledge let him come to Christ.

On the last day of the feast Jesus said, “if any man thirst let him come to me and drink”. When
he spoke of this he spoke of the Holy Spirit and many believed him to be a prophet.

Christ went on to show his work of healing at Bethsaida what was in harmony with the Sabbath
Law. But many could not believe in him, they were drawn by an irresistible power since the
devil suggested doubt in them.

When it comes to matters of sin Christ requires that each person should focus on getting
forgiveness for his own sins before trying to point fingers at the sins of others and most
importantly when forgiven we should go and sin no more.

We should remember that we are also sinners in need of redemption instead of stoning others
their sins we should ask for the forgiveness of our sins.

July 17, 2017 John 8:12-59


Jesus is the light of the world. His word is the light in our paths and thus if we walk with him we
will never walk in darkness. If he is lifted up he will draw many to himself.

July 18, 2017 John 9


Not all the problems come into our lives because we have sinned but because sometime the
power of God must be seen in our seen in our lives and our faith strengthened.

Jesus taught that he is the light of the world and those following never walk in darkness and the
Pharisees and rulers would not tolerate as the viewed him as an uneducated man.

Every soul that refuses to give himself to God is under the control of another power. He is not his
own. He may talk of freedom but he is the deepest slavery. We are either for God or against God.

The Pharisees refused to accept the divinity of Christ and thus wanted to kill him for blasphemy.
Many today still deny the fact that Christ is both man and God at the same time.

While many people were moved by the miracles that Jesus had done the Pharisees were busy
trying to find faults and this is the problem that many of us have today. Instead of seeing God in
every good deed done we seek for faults to criticize.

Christ is the good shepherd who David wrote of in Psalms 23 and all he has come for is for
mankind to receive life and have it abundantly as a free gift from God only found through Jesus
Christ.

Christ is the door which leads into the fold of God and through this door all his children since the
first man have found entrance to the fold of God.

Jesus cares for every one for he is the shepherd of all and most importantly he is the Good
Shepherd and he knows all mankind by name for he cares for us.

July 26, 2017 Matthew 19:1-12; Luke 9:51-56


John and James preferred to see fire coming down from heaven to consume those who had
refused to welcome Christ but out of love Jesus did not do that for he wishes that all should come
to repentance.

July 27, 2017 Mark 10:1-12


Marriage is a very sacred thing that should be treated with respect and reverence and thus there is
no room for divorce in God’s original plan for marriage.

July 28, 2017 Matthew 19:23-30; Mark 10:23-31


Where a man places great value his heart is always concerned about and thus for the rich who
have a greater risk of placing more value in their wealth than in Christ it will be difficult for
them to enter heaven.

July 29, 2017 Luke 10:1-24


God’s field is great and Christ is looking for labourers who will say, “Here I am Lord, send me”,
for the harvest time is fast closing and many are dying in sin.

July 30, 2017 Matthew 20:1-19


In this work for God the reward is the same for everyone who chooses Christ. The parable was to
teach that all who choose Christ will receive eternal life regardless of how long they have walked
with Christ.

July 31, 2017 Mark 10:46-52; DA 489-493


When others were seeing Jesus of Nazareth to Bartemeous he was Jesus the Son of David and
hence the messiah. We all ought to see through the thick fog of life and see Jesus as our Saviour.
