June 01, 2017 Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:33-44
He who taught the people the way to secure peace and happiness was just as thoughtful of their
temporal necessities as their spiritual need. The people weary and faint, Christ never worked a
miracle expect to supply a genuine necessity.

June 02, 2017 Luke 9:16-17; John 6:1-13


The people listened to the words of mercy flowing so freely from lips of the Son of God. They
heard the gracious words so simple. The healing of his divine hand brought gladness and life to
the dying world.

June 03, 2017 DA 364-365


Christ never worked a miracle except to supply genuine necessity and every miracle was of a
character to lead the people to the tree of life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. The
simple food passed by the hands of the disciples.

If many today were simple in their habits, living in harmony with nature’s law which Adam and
Eve in the beginning, there would be an abundant supply for the needs of human family. There
will fewer imaginary wants.

After the multitude had been fed, there was an abundance of food left but he who had all the
resources of infinite power at his command said, “Gather up the fragments that remain, nothing
be lost”. The words meant more than putting the bread in basket we should neglect nothing save
us.

June 06, 2017 Matthew 14:22-36; Mark 6:45-56


The disciples had that day witnessed the wonderful works of Christ. It seemed that heaven had
come down to the earth. The memory of that precious glorious day should have filled them with
faith and hope.

The great multitude witnessed the works of healing which were such as only the divine power
would perform but the miracle of the waves appeared to everyone in that vast multitude. As did
God in the old he fed Israel with manna.

Never before had a command from Christ seemed so impossible of fulfillment, the disciples had
long hoped for popular movement to place Jesus on the throne, they could not endure the thought
that all this enthusiasm should come to nothing.

Not for a moment did Christ lose sight for his disciples with deepest solicitude his eyes followed
the storm tossed beat with its precious burden for these men were to be the light of the world as a
mother in tender love watches her child.

As we journey through as Christians we are to seek not material benefit. It is not to be taken as
chief effort to provide for the life now is, but to seek spiritual food even that wisdom with will
endure onto everlasting life. This the Son of God alone can give.

When Christ forbade the people to declare him, he knew that a turning point in his history was
reached; multitudes who desired to exalt him to the throne today would turn from him tomorrow.

Christ became one flesh with us, in order that we might become one spirit with him. It is by
virtue of this union that we are to come forth from the grave not merely as a manifestation of the
power of Christ but because through faith.

By looking constantly to Jesus with the eye of faith we shall be strengthened in great strides God
will make the most precious revelations to his hungering, thirsting people. They will find that
Christ is a personal Saviour and they will be fed.

June 14, 2017 Matthew 15:1-20


Through false wrought doctrines Satan gains a foot hold and captivates the minds of men,
causing them to hold theories that have a foundation in truth. Men teach the doctrines of men.

Satan has wrought with deceiving power, bringing in a many of errors than observe truth. Error
could not stand alone and would soon become instinct.

June 16, 2017 DA 395-398


He purposed in his heart that no attraction of an earthly nature should call men to the side; only
the beauty of heavenly truth must draw those who would follow him. The heavens rejoiced to see
the redeemer.

June 17, 2017 Matthew 15:21-28; Mark 7:24-30; DA 399-400


The people who had been given every opportunity to understand the truth are without knowledge
of the needs of those around them. No effort was made to help souls in darkness.

June 18, 2017 DA 401-403


Pride and prejudice have built strong walls of separation between professed classes of Christian.
Christ and his mission have been misrepresented and multitudes feel that they are virtually shut
away from the ministry.

June 19, 2017 Matthew 15:29-39; Mark 7:31-37


The feeding of the multitude was a symbol of power and authority, seven large baskets of
fragment remains, four thousand men, besides women and children were fed and Jesus sent them
away happy.

June 20, 2017 DA 494-495


Our Saviour presented before the people of that time the character of their sins. His plain words
aroused the conscience of the hearers but Satan’s counter working agencies were seeking for a
place for their theories, to attract minds from the plainly spoken truth.

June 22, 2017 Mark 8:1-12


The gospel is not to be presented as a lifeless theory but as a living force to change the life. God
would have his servants bear testimony to the fact that through his grace men may possess Christ
like character.

June 23, 2017 DA 408-409


Jesus knew his journey of sorrow and that he was to be delivered into the hands of his enemies
and hung upon the cross of Calvary for saving sinners.
