Scholarship News We are delighted to announce two scholarships to St Lawrence College. Congratulations to Celena SabinDawson, who has been awarded an All-Rounder Award in recognition of her sport, art and academic achievements, and to Billy Miles who has achieved a Sport Scholarship. Burns Night Burns night was celebrated here at Wellesley on Tuesday evening. The Scottish dancing was enjoyed by all and it was great to see Junior House dancing along with Block one. A most enjoyable night. Boarders' Disco Mr Collins debut in charge of the decks was a great success. Lots of fun was had by all. Lecture: Mr P Warwick, 'Shackleton' On Friday morning, the middle school will be treated to a lecture on the polar explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton. Junior House Poetry Recital Good luck to all the pupils in Junior House who have been learning their poems ahead of Fridays (4:30pm) recitation. Mrs McDermott has the difficult job of adjudicating. Wellesleys Got Talent Qualifying is now over and the judges had a very difficult time choosing who to put through. The eight finalists will be announced later today. Art Department Request Block Four are making artwork using recycled materials this term. Miss Beaumont would be very grateful for any unwanted brightly coloured plastic lids from food packaging. Electric Sports Half-Term Hockey Camp at Stowe A hockey camp will take place on the 16th and 17th February and will run from 9.30-4pm at Stowe School. The coaches are well qualified and have years of experience in creating fun environments for children to learn and develop. Please find attached all the information and details needed on how to book a place. Also, Bethany School have an Open Morning on Saturday 7th February from 10am. Details of other senior schools hosting summer camps or courses will be put on the notice board near the dining room or held in the school office. Sainsbury Vouchers We are again collecting Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers. Please collect as many as you can and hand them into your form tutors, direct to Mrs Healy, or post them in the special collecting box by the office. The vouchers are available from 28th Jan to 5th May. Thank you. Late Arrivals There have been a few late arrivals over the last couple of weeks, particularly on a Monday, which can disrupt assembly.
