I. OBJECTIVES At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
a.) Enumerate and define anthropogenic activities ; and
b.) Explain how human activities causes landslide
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
1. The different hazards caused by hydrometeorological
phenomena (tropical cyclones, monsoons, floods, and
tornadoes or ipo-ipo)

B. Performance Standards Conduct a survey or design a study to assess the possible

hydrometeorological hazards that your community may experience.
(Note: Select this performance standard if your school is in an area
that is frequently hit by tropical cyclones and is usually flooded.)
C. Learning Identify human activities that speed up or trigger landslide.
Competencies/Objectives (S11/12ES-If-33)
Write the LC Code for each

and practicing new skills Mechanics: Each group will take turn identify what the picture is
#1 all about and explain how it happen.
1. Deforestation
2. Excavation
3. Mining and quarrying
4. Land pollution
5. Land use
6. Inappropriate drainage system
E. Discussing new concepts Activity 3: Let’s Investigate
and practicing new skills Directions: Analyze the given situation and identify if the place is a
#2 landslide prone are or not then explain why it is a landslide prone
area.
1. Our place is an elevated area near the sea. At night I hear
grambling sound coming from underneath the ground with
associated shaking of the land.
2. Baguio is one of the most populated cities in the Philippines.

dig bones that were believed to be the first group of people in their
place.
5. Every heavy rainfall, the Barangay Dimasalang is being flooded
and the soil becomes saturated but there are still trees.

F. Developing mastery Activity 4: Let’s Have a Survey

(Leads to formative Directions: Each member of the group will identify activity that
assessment) triggers landslide the most and least. Consolidate and analyze the
data gathered. Answer the guide questions below.
1. What is the most human activity that triggers landslide? Why?
2. What is the least human activity that triggers landslide? Why?
3. How can these human activities affect your lives and how will
you address this kind of hazard?

G. Finding Activity 5: Let’s Plan
