Teacher Mrs. Jennifer B. Magango Learning Area Earth and Life Science
DAILY
LESSON July 11, 2019
PLAN Teaching Date 7:15 – 8:15 11-Infinity
Quarter First
and Time 9:45 – 10:45 11- Henry Sy
10:45 – 11:45 11- Jean Paul Satre

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of: the subsystems (geosphere,
hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere) that make up the Earth
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to make a concept map and use it to explain how
the geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere are interconnected
C. Learning Competencies & Code The learners explain that the Earth consists of four subsystems, across whose
boundaries matter and energy flow (S11ES-Ib-4).
 define the concept of a system; and
 • recognize the Earth as a system composed of subsystems.
II. CONTENT EARTH SUBSYSTEMS
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teaching Guide
2. Leaners’ Material/ Textbook
3. Additional Materials from LR portal
B. Other Learning Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or ACTIVITY:
presenting the new lesson Together with the learners, label the different processes and phases of water involved in
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson the water cycle.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of the Scrambled Word:

new lesson Arrange the letter to reveal the word being described by the statement.

TESSMY
A set of interconnected components that are interacting to form a
unified whole.
D. Discussing new concepts and Discuss:
practicing new skills #1 Components or subsystems of the Earth System.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing
new skills #2

1. Divide the class into 4 groups.

2. Ask them to have a group discussion of the earth’s subsystem
3. Report to class what they have brainstormed on the earth’s subsystem
 Geosphere
 Hydrosphere
 Atmosphere
 Biosphere
F. Developing mastery (leads to SYSTEM INTERACTIONS:
Formative Assessment) Explain how the Earth’s subsystem interacts in the following scenarios.
4. Finding practical applications of 1. Hurricanes sweep across the ocean and onto the land, damaging the
concepts and skills in daily living dwellings of people who live along the coast.
2. Volcanoes erupt, sending ash and gases into the air and sending lava and ash
down onto surrounding forests and human habitations.
3. Earthquakes can damage buildings which may kill people, as well as cause
fires which release gases into the air. Earthquakes in the ocean may cause a
tsunami which can eventually hit land and kill both animals
and people.

5. Making generalizations and Complete the MIND MAP

abstractions about the lesson
6. Evaluating learning Earth

Geosphere Hydrosphere Biosphere Atmosphere

7. Additional activities for application or

remediation
