Another student Id like to

highlight is Yamelin, she is a 10
year old girl who is blind. I
mentioned her in a newsletter last
year. She began working one on
one with Francisco, a young man
from Santa Maria who is blind. He
has done a great job with her, and I
have learned a lot from him. Over
Christmas break, I went to the
Tennessee school for the Blind and

was able to observe a speech therapist there working with blind children. It has been a challenge for me
learning how to work with Yamelin, but it is very rewarding. I ask for your prayers as I continue to work
with her and help her communicate best with those around her.

The last student I wanted to highlight is a girl named Anyely. I actually started working with her a few years
ago, but because of lack of family support, she stopped coming. When she was of kindergarten age, her mom
did not enroll her. Now, Anyely is 7 years old and has just started kindergarten this year. She has severe
difficulties with understanding and with speech. Her mom was hit by a bus when she was 8 months pregnant
with her. She comes from a very difficult family life. I am very glad that her mother decided to enroll her
this year. She has a long way to go, but I know that New Life is where she needs to be! I pray that she feels
loved and supported here, and I cannot wait to see how much she comes out of her shell by the end of the
school year! These are just a
few stories of my many precious
children with whom I work on a
daily basis. They brighten my day,
make me life, and have taught
me more than I could have ever
imagined. I am blessed to be
their speech therapist and a role
model for them. Please be in
prayer specifically for Yovany,
Yamelin, and Anyely, but also
for all of my students.
