IthasbeenbroughttomyattentionthattheremaybeafewcouncilmembersthathaveconcernwithwhoIhave
selectedtoassistuswithforourretreatandIwilloutlinetheconcernsasIhaveheardthem.
First,thatImayhavearelationshipwithTriuneLeadership,infulldisclosureIdidattendapresentationa
numberofyearsagowheretheywerelookingatdoingtraininginWillmar,IdidnotattendthetrainingnorhaveI
hadanydirectcontactafterthatmeeting.
Second,thatCityAdministratorStevenshasworkedwithTriuneLeadershipinthepast.Icannotanswerthat
butIamsureshewillprovideanansweronMonday.WhenImentionedthattheywererecommendedshetold
meshehadnotworkedwiththemasIrememberourconversation.
Third,wehavehadatleastonecouncilmembercontactTriuneLeadershiptoconducttheirownevaluationto

thiswillcosttaxpayermoniesandwillbereflectedontheirinvoice.
AsafollowupactionwecouldaskforafullindependentinvestigationastomyorcityadministratorSteven's
knowledgeoforhavingworkedwithTriuneLeadershipinthepast.Againthiswillcosttaxpayermonies.
Thewaytheywereselectedwasbyarecommendationfromtwolocalcompanies,BremerBankandMnWest,as
someonetheyhaveusedandtheywerepleasedwiththeirresult.CharleneandIthencontactedMarkand
conductedaphoneinterview.WethenreceivedawrittenproposalandIselectedthemwiththatinformation.It
shouldalsobenotedthatIwastryingtoavoidselectingsomeonethathadpastworkingrelationshipswiththe
city,Charleneormyself.
IhavealsobeenaccusedofrecordingphoneconversationsandrestassuredIdonotdothatnorhaveIever
donethatunlessinstructedbylegalcouncilinmyroleasafireinvestigator.Trustinanorganizationisassumed
andearneduntilitiserodedbyactions.
Iamnotsureatthistimethatasacouncilwearereadytohavearetreatseeingwecannotevenagreeifthe
mayorhastalkedwithsomeonewewanttoassistusinthevisioningprocess.Inmyopinionthisisverysadand
doesnotshowawillingnesstomovefromthepastintothefuture.Ourcitizensexpectanddeservebetterthan
theactionsoutlinedabove.
IwillbetalkingtocouncilmemberAhmann(thiswasthecommitteethattheretreatwasfirstbroughtto)and
CharleneonMondaytoseewhatournextactionstepsshouldbe.Itismygoaltohavearetreatandstartdown
apathofworkingforthecitizensasateamprovidingcityleadershipthatisexpected.
