BI-LO Hometown Rewards Program

BI-LO and Harveys are giving back to local communities all over the
Southeast.
The Hometown Educational Rewards program initially introduced by
Harveys, BI-LOs sister banner, is an innovative way for the stores to
provide free updated educational items to schools throughout their
local communities. These items vary from books and art supplies to
computers and sports equipment.
BI-LO decided to join the program last year around April after seeing
how much success Harveys had with the turnkey program. We at BILO are extremely excited to be apart of this program and are thrilled at
having a chance to connect so closely with the surrounding
community, said Mitchell Cochran, Store Director at store 5343.
The program functions off of parent and supporters involvement.
First, schools enroll in the program with their unique school code and
from there parents and supporters simply link their BI-LO or Harveys
BONUSCARD to any participating school of their choice. Then, every
time a parent or supporter uses their BI-LO or Harveys BONUSCARD the
selected school earns points towards free school equipment and
supplies.
These schools can be public or private accredited non-profit and can
range from kindergarten to high school.
Each year the program has individual winners as well as school winners
for different periods of the program. This recent period was from
August 2, 2014 to November 30, 2014 for BI-LO and July 31, 2014 to
November 30, 2014 for Harveys.
Harveys store 1666 was pleased to honor Tiffany Clarke with first place
and an iPod Nano as well as a $500 Harveys gift card. While Harveys
store 1618 was delighted to honor Hester Brooks with third place.
Brooks also received an iPod Nano and $250 Harveys gift card. (insert

Shortly after Harveys announcement, BI-LO declared the winners of
their second Hometown Educational Rewards program. The first winner
was Joye DeLay who supported Spring Place Elementary in Chatsworth
Ga. by shopping at store 5343 in Cleveland, Tenn. The second was
Peggy Genter who supported Cherokee Ridge Elementary in
Chickamauga, Ga. by shopping at store 5617 in Rossville, Ga. and the

third was Paula Powell who supported Loftis Middle School in Hixson,
Tenn. by shopping at store 5713 in Hixson.
It has been part of BI-LOs and Harveys mission to stand as supporting
figures within their local communities, with Hometown Educational
Rewards being just one of many community involvement projects the
companys have organized.
