Managed Continuity
Sample phone script

Sample Phone Script

The following provides a sample phone script for calling a small or

medium sized local business to try and get a foot in the door with
the Managed Continuity service.
Our general guidance is to lead with low-cost entry-level service Availability Monitoring - and then expand
into delivering a fully Managed Service to the customer in the fullness of time.
In many cases theyll have an existing support arrangement and its important not to go head to head on this
as this could decrease the chance of success.
The End Customer must be convinced you provide this to other local companies who are in a similar situation
to themselves.
Its important to not go for the close and try and get an order on the first call to the prospect. Consider that
the objective for your telemarketing campaign may not be to sign orders or even trials, but to simply inform
the prospect a little bit about the service, and to get their permission to send some information. You can then
follow-up with a greater chance of success.

Sample Script
IT Co: Hi, this is Bill Jones calling from ACME IT Services. Can I have one-minute of your time to outline a new
service that many other businesses in Anytown are taking advantage of?
End Cust: Hmm, well, OK, if youre quick.
IT Co: OK, thanks. Well weve been dealing with IT at small and medium sized businesses for over XX years
now, and what weve found most business owners just want their systems to work and to know that when
things do go wrong, their business can continue to function with minimal disruption.
<<Wait for reply if forthcoming>>
So, thats what were geared up to deliver.
Were offering a Managed Continuity service protecting your systems to minimize data loss and keep your
business running if disaster strikes....fire, flood...that kind of thing.
The Monitoring part of the service makes sure youre up, running and ready for business and we provide
regular health checks and reports to demonstrate what were doing and that were on top of your IT systems.
If we detect a problem, well inform you. You can pass to your own IT Guy or ask us to fix it.
And the cost of this is just a few cents per day for complete peace-of-mind.
Is that something you would be interested in getting some more information about or perhaps trying a free
30-day trial of the service?
<<Wait for reply and deal with any objections. When youve dealt with those and checked that he/she is
happy with the answer -- go for close >>
OK, well as I mentioned, we do offer a free 30-day trial of the service. Its completely free and takes just five
minutes to set up? Can I set up one of those for you?
<<If they say no, go for smaller close>>
OK, how about if I send you a one-page brochure on the service and check back in a week or so?
