United Bank of India declared debt-ridden


Kingfisher Airlines and its
owner Vijay Mallya as wilful defaulters.
Three Kingfisher Airlines Ltd directors A.K.
Ganguly, Subhash Gupte and
Ravi Nedungadi were also declared as wilful
defaulters. RBI has given
a detailed definition which is given a separate
article. However, as a
layman you should know that a wilful default
occurs when a borrower
has not repaid the amount borrowed from a bank
inspite of the fact he
can return the same. A borrower who has used
the sanctioned funds for
a purpose other than for what these were
allowed, can also be declared
as willful defaulter. OR when the borrower
disposes off the assets
created from bank funds without the banks
knowledge.

Andhra to get its new


capital near Vijayawada

The new capital of Andhra Pradesh will be


located in the Vijayawada
region,. Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated to
create a new state of
Telangana earlier this year in June. Hyderabad
will serve as the shared
capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for
another 10 years until 2024.
After that, Hyderabad will belong to the new
state of Telangana. Nearly
a decade ago, Naidu turned Hyderabad into some
sort of Silicon Valley.
It became an exceptionally prosperous IT hub. He
now says he has
ambitious plans to transform Andhra Pradesh
into a "bustling" state and
model it on Singapore.

concluded at
Pithoragarh. The exercise was seventh in the
series. The
14-day exercise was based on to practice counter
insurgency, jungle
warfare and disaster management under the
aegis of the Indian Armys
GARUD division. Surya
Kiran aimed to create a greater understanding
between the Indian and
Nepalese armies and develop expertise in jungle
warfare and
counter-terrorism operations in mountainous
terrains.

Health Minister launches


Indias first National
Anti-Tuberculosis Drug
Resistance Survey

India signs civil nuclear


agreement with Australia

Health
Minister Harsh Vardhan today launched Indias
first National
Anti-Tuberculosis Drug Resistance Survey in New
Delhi. The
survey will be conducted on 5,214 patients
across the country. It will
provide information on the prevalence of antituberculosis drug
resistance among new and patients already
undergoing treatment. The
number of multi-drug resistant TB cases in the
country had increased by
five times between 2011 and 2013.

After agreement with Australian PM, India will


now be in a position to
secure uranium from Australia to meet its energy
requirements, with the
two countries signing a bilateral civil nuclear
agreement. Australia
would provide supply of uranium, production of
radio isotopes, nuclear
safety and other areas of cooperation to India.

Interestingly, Australia has about a third


of the worlds recoverable uranium resources
and it exports nearly seven thousand tonnes of
uranium in a year. This
was Australias first nuclear deal with a NonNuclear, Non-Proliferation
Treaty (NPT) signatory country.

debit card

State Bank of India (SBI) in tie-up with


MasterCard recently launched
its first multi-currency international debit card
which allow customers
to use a single card to pay in multiple currencies.
To begin with, the
prepaid debit card will enable customers to load
four currencies US dollar, Euro, Great Britain
Pound and Singapore

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and Tata Chemicals


Limited (TCL) have
signed an MOU to set up Indias first of its kind
Coral Garden in
