PRESENT TENSES

1) Present Simple
-every day, from time to time, often, sometimes
(za radnje koje su uobicajene, koje se ponavljaju odredjenom ucestaloscu)
+ I go to work by bus every day.; She reads books all the time.
- I dont know what to do.; He doesnt want to help me with this.
? Do you cook every day?; Does he walk to work?
2) Present Continuous
-now, at the moment (radnje u trenutku govora, e.g I am typing)
- these days (duzi vremenski period u sadasnjosti, e.g I am staying at the hotel
these days)
- more and more (za promene, e.g More and more people are starting to learn
English.)
- tonight, tomorrow (za planove u bliskoj buducnosti)
+ I am listening to music.; He is playing the piano.
- We arent going to the cinema.; She isnt doing her job.
? What are you doing?; Where is he going?
3) Present Perfect Simple
- yet, already, so far
(za stanja koja su pocela u proslosti I jos uvek traju i za radnje koje su se upravo
zavrsile)
+ I have been there already.

HAVE/HAS + past participle

He has lost his car key, so cant get in.


- We havent finished our lunch yet.; She hasnt done her homework.
? What have you told him?; How many times has he read this book?
4) Present Perfect Continuous
- since, for
(radnje koje su pocele u proslosti I jos uvek traju; ne moze za stanja)
+ I have been learning English since I was 9.
participle (3.kolona)
She has been waiting for 3 hours.

HAV/HAS + BEEN + past

- We havent been speaking loud; I dont know why you are angry.; He hasnt
been speaking a lot since we came.
? What have you been doing all morning?; How long has she been
sleeping?
PAST TENSES
1) Past Simple
- yesterday, last night/year/century, 3 days ago
(za radnje koje su se desile u proslosti i zavrsene su)
+ I did all I had to do.; She phoned me to come.
- I didnt buy her a present.; He didnt forget about my birthday.
? What did you do?;

Where were you?

2) Past Continuous
- yesterday at 3 oclock, when ., while
(za radnje koje su trajale u odredjenom trenutku u proslosti)
+ I was sleeping when she called.; We were playing cards while you were
studying.
- He wasnt talking about you.; They were running when I saw them.
? Where were you going when I saw you?; Were you trying to fall asleep?
3) Past Perfect Simple
- before, after
(za radnju koja se desila u proslosti, pre druge prosle radnje)
+ I had learned everything before I came here.; He had seen that movie
before I showed it to him.
- I hadnt worked anywhere before I started working here.; She hadnt been
so beautiful before she lost some weight.
? What had you done?; Had you turned of the music before going out?
4) Past Perfect Continuous
- before, after
(za radnje koje su trajale u proslosti pre neke druge prosle radnje)
+ I had been learning Russian for 10 years when I decided to stop.; He had
been sleeping for 5 hours when I woke him up.
- We hadnt been watching TV until our computer broke down.; They hadnt
been paying attention in the class, so now they know nothing.

? Why had you been crying so much before we called?; Had you been
working there for long?
