1. Show a picture of 5 rocks in the river and a cutout of a frog.
( count by 10's as the frog leaps )
2. Place the numbers ( 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 ) on each rock as the pulis repeat on counting.
3. Call on the individual pupils to read and count the numbers.
4. Put out their leaves bundled into 10's . Count them by 10's.
5. Show the number line and have some pupils count by 10's.
6. Display the number chart and let the pupils skip count by 10.
7. Generalization : Can we count faster when we count by tens ?What did we do

Group the pupils into 4. Make bundles of tens up to 50 by cutting up the newspapers into
