To view the fault codes in the UDB history file:

1. Press the UP or DOWN buttons for 2 seconds to access the fault history.
2. Press either button to scroll through the recorded faults in history.
3. The most recent fault recorded will be the first fault displayed (the last 16 faults
are stored in the history, on a rolling basis). There is no time or date stamp associated
with these faults.
4. When the fault history has been exhausted, pushing the UP or DOWN buttons again
will roll the fault history over and it will start again.
5. To exit the fault history, wait for 10 seconds and the board will automatically exit
the history mode.
To clear the fault history, press and hold both the UP and DOWN buttons for
5 seconds while the power is on.

Start-up
Step 1: DO NOTHING - Observe installation
Step 2: Identify the unit you are working on
Step 3: Turn off gas and hook up manometers
Step 4: Turn gas on and fire unit (remember sequence)
Step 6: Check air pressure and re-adjust if necessary
Slide Air Shutter in for more negative suction
Step 7: Check temp and hi-limit settings
Step 8: Cycle unit

Step 9: Paperwork

Check the tracking pressure (at point B) with the heater firing at
100% input. The tracking pressure provides feedback to the gas
regulator to compensate for various air ducting arrangements and
changes in the pressure drop across the combustion air filter.
Initial readings with a clean air filter installed must be recorded on
the Start-up Checklist located at the back of the I&O manual.
When the tracking pressure is more negative than -0.6 in. WC for 1005
and 1505 models or -0.8 in. WC on 2005, replace the filter

OLD MVB & XTherms

Carbon dioxide should be 9.0% 0.1% at full fire
for natural gas,
and 10.0% 0.2% for propane gas.
Carbon monoxide should be < 100 ppm.

MVB & XTherm A Models

Carbon dioxide should be 9.0% 0.2% at full fire
for natural gas,
and should be 10.2% 0.2% for propane gas.
Carbon monoxide should be < 100 ppm.
AT 100% FIRING ONLY!

NOx Emissions
NOx is formed in all combustion processes.

NOx is formed more with increased exposure at

high temperatures.

To lower CO
decrease air pressure
and/or
increase gas pressure (not more than 0.2"W.C.)

To lower NOx
decrease gas pressure (not more than 0.2"W.C.)
