The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide
lay organization. In the Diocese of Austin, it
operates stores which sell donated clothing,
furniture, and appliances. Proceeds from the
stores, along with donated materials, are used to assist families in
financial crises. The UCC partners with the St. Austin Catholic
Parish Conference of the Society in supporting this ministry. For

Interested in becoming catholic?

Would you like to become Catholic? Are you

interested in learning more about Catholicism,
but not sure youre ready to fully join the
Catholic faith community? Are you a baptized
Catholic who never received First Communion
and Confirmation? Then the RCIA process is
for you! RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Classes will be held Wednesday evenings 7:00-9:00 pm beginning

for more information, to register, or to volunteer as part of the
RCIA team.
Adult confirmation prep

Confirmation classes for those who have graduated

from high school will be held Sunday evenings from
6:30-7:30 pm, beginning September 27. To
participate, you must be a baptized Catholic who has
received First Communion. The Confirmation class
calendar can be found online at:

register and turn in a copy of your baptism certificate as soon as

A Word from Our Ministry Team

Hello! My name is Marti Salas, and I am really
excited to be back at the UCC as campus
minister. I graduated in 1993, was a member of
the Longhorn Band, went on Longhorn
Awakening #8, and spent many hours, days, and
weeks hanging out at the UCC. The UCC was so
much of a home away from home for me that
my mother would call the front desk when she needed to talk to
me. (Of course, that was in the days before cell phones!)
I look forward to getting to know everyone and to learning how
much the UCC has grown and changed over the last few years.
Please stop by and introduce yourself and let me know how we can
have the best experience possible here at UT and at the UCC!

Ethics & Integrity in Ministry (EIM)

Serving in ministry at the UCC?

By order of the Bishop, anyone serving in a

ministry that works with children or vulnerable
adults must be certified by the office for Ethics and
Integrity in Ministry (EIM). To be certified,
you must submit an online application to the
Diocese and attend a 3-hour Basic workshop.
Those who have already been certified must also
attend a 1.5 hour Refresher workshop every three years in order
to maintain their certification. Please note that the UCC will host
one of each type of workshop every Fall and Spring semester.
To register and to learn more, visit the Diocese of Austin
webpage and click on EIM Workshops under the Quick Links
tab. You may attend ANY available workshop in the Dioceseyou
do not need to attend those offered by the UCC. If you have any

Join us for lunch and fellowship in the UCC

Atrium every Wednesday at 12:30 pm. Cost is
free, but freewill offerings are happily accepted.
Come to the 12:05 Mass beforehand and feed your
soul as well as your body!

Come join a group of volunteers who make people

happy! On Sunday mornings we carpool to our
sister community at the Austin State Supported
Living Center (a residential facility for people who
have an intellectual or developmental disability).
We accompany residents to a Catholic prayer service we hold
there. Many of these folks are in wheelchairs and could not come to
church without us. For more information, please sign up at the
