THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF 32 ADDITIONAL REEFER

OUTLETS AT THE MONTEGO BAY CARGO TERMINAL

INTRODUCTION
The demand for reefer outlets at the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal has exceeded the
present installed capacity of eighteen (18) plug. This Acting on directive to increase
the number of reefer plugs installed at the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal, an
assessment was done, and it was agreed with the Business Management and Special
Projects departments that an additional 32 reefer outlets are required to satisfy the
refrigerated containers demand on the terminal.
This project provides for the supply and installation of 32 additional reefer outlets at
the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The scope of works involves the procurement and installation of 32 reefer outlets,
associated switchgears and cabling, and in addition, the transfer of the existing 18
reefers outlets circuits to the new electrical room.
INVITATION TO TENDER
Notice inviting qualified contractors to visit the offices of the Port Authority of
Jamaica to collect tender documents was placed in The Gleaner and Port Authoritys
website on Saturday, May 16, 2015 (See Appendix I). The notice outlined the scope
of work involved and the eligibility requirements of the contractor in accordance with
the Government Procurement Procedures. Tenderers were requested to deposit their
tenders in the tender box located on the Ground Floor of the offices of The Port
Authority of Jamaica, 15-17 Duke Street, Kingston, Jamaica, no later than 3:00 p.m.
on Friday, June 12, 2015.

ADDENDUM
One (1) addenda were issued during the tender process (See Appendix III).
PRE-TENDER MEETING (Site Meeting)
Pursuant to clause 7 of the Instruction to Bidders section of the Tender Document,
bidders were invited to attend a pre-tender meeting on June 2, 2015. The meeting was
used to provide the prospective bidders with detail description of scope of work,
including line by line analysis of the Bill of Quantity.
