UNIFORMS: We will be ordering more uniforms October 9. Please fill out the attached order form and return it
to Mrs. Pia by Friday, October 9, 2015.
HOT LUNCH: Our first hot lunch will be Friday, October 23. We will be having burrito/nacho bar. The cost is $3. If
you would like to have hot lunch please bring your money to Mrs. Pia by Tuesday, October 20.
There will be a free presentation looking at the different stages of Dementia/Alzheimers at the VFW Post in
Sheridan (209 Washington St.) Thursday, October 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Math Facts: 3rd graders are learning multiplication facts. Please study them with your student at home.
Book-It begins today! Your childs goal is to read 12 picture books or 100 pages in a chapter book in October.
You may read to your child or have them read on their own. When they have finished, fill out the report form,
sign it and return it to Mrs. Williams to get a certificate for a free personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut.
GRADES 4-6
Grades 4-6/The class team record is 3-0. Game 4 teacher is ahead in points.
Despite mechanical difficulties with our automobiles going to Camp Au Sable, we had a wonderful time.
The 5th and 6th grade earned their Pathfinder ecology honor. A special thank you to Mr. Doug Peterson
who helped transport us on Thursday, and Mrs. Santos who was the girls counselor. Outdoor Education
will be scheduled for the Winter of next school year 2016-2017.
Bible: Memorize OT and NT books(Pathfinder requirement) ; Lesson 5 next Monday.
Reading: 6th Complete book reports for Cabin Faced West and Twenty and Ten; 4/5 Lewis and Clark
Read Aloud: Ben Carson Chapter on Bookworm./ Animal Stories -worship
Math: 4th 2.3 and 2.4, 5th Chapter 1 test and 2.1.: Daily Timed Testing x, +,-, dividing continue studying.
Science: Chapter 2 Test and Animal Projects due Oct. 9 or Oct. 11.
4th Bible and Science is with Mrs. Williams.
Social Studies: US Presidents- first 25 with abbreviations of letters of name; US States up to Michigan and
south to, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama.
World Studies: 6th Ch. 2 Test

Spelling: Only List B will be used for weekly testing and tests will be on Thursdays. Week 2
Computer printout of weekly grades and missing work is given every Friday.

Math: 7th Grade: 2.3 Exercises: p.66 #1-9, 15-33 odd, 35, 36, 38, 45, 46.
8th Grade: 2.3 Exercises: p.66 #1-3, 13-16, 19-27 odd, 24, 26.

Were so excited that LIFT time is almost here! Well be meeting at the CLE parking lot at 12:45 and plan to
leave by 1:00 at the latest. As you can see from the latest forecast, it will be rainy on the day we arrive at
Camp Au Sable and on the day that we leave there. Please bring clothing appropriate for the weather. We
appreciate Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Koster being our female sponsors for the trip!

PRINCIPALS CORNER
There is a Calendar change for the Thanksgiving Program. It is being changed from the 15th to the 8th of
November. Our facility will not be available for that weekend of the 7th and 8th of November because of
the Thanksgiving Program.
Thank you again for your promptness in picking up your student(s) after school at 3:35p.m.
Thank you for also staying off the grass that surrounds the school.
Please remember to have your financial agreements signed. Our enrollment is officially 49 with 2
additional students beginning next week.
Iowa Test of Basic Skills will be October 12-16.
As we begin the fall season, please be sure to dress appropriately, get a lot of sleep, and eat healthfully.
There have been a lot of illnesses going around. Students need to be sure to wash your hands and use
your elbow when you are coughing.
ADVENTURERS: October 3, Sabbath Afternoon, pass out bags for can collecting (optional), wear dress uniform.
October 5, 6:30 8 p.m., Can collecting, wear field uniform
PATHFINDERS:
