This week in Science Grade 6 finished
creating their Plate Tectonic maps and
locating major landforms due to plate
boundary movements. In Grade 7 Science
we finished up our study on Cell
Chemistry. In Grade 8 Science we continue
to work on our study of Mixtures and
Solutions. We will have a quiz next
Tuesday.
 - 6th Graders learned about Hunter-Gatherer
societies and have moved on to how
population spread around the Earth.
- 7th Graders continued with Medieval
Europe learning stations. Students need to
complete tasks at home that they did not
complete in class. They have been given a
checklist.
- 8th grade took their quiz on the War of
1812. We have started our discussion of the
period known as Jacksonian Democracy.
Spanish:
6th grade is starting with infinitives and
subject pronouns.
7th grade is starting question words and
stem-changing verbs.
8th grade is reviewing stem-changing verbs
and irregular verbs.
Religion: 6th grade (Mr. Petruzzi’s homeroom)
has a test Monday on Chapter 2, which
discusses the eternal nature of God, Book of
Genesis and the early covenants made with

- The Boston Museum of Science Field Trip is
on Wednesday, October 25.
7th grade is finishing up their Laundry
Scheme Mini Project in literature and in
the revising phase of their essay. We
are still working on some important
grammar concepts and the test has been
moved to next Thursday.
8th grade has started their dystopian
study and will be reading The Lottery
next week. Personal statements are due
Tuesday.
Literature-7th Grade finished reading Al
Capone Does My Shirts- We worked on
finishing Review questions for Chapters
31-40 in class.
6th Grade has finished reading and
working on the Review Questions
Chapters 11-15 of Tuck Everlasting.
Language Arts- 6th and 7th Grade are
finishing adding details to their First
drafts of their Personal Narratives and
will be working on finalizing their drafts
next week.
