Folding up for storage

Disconnect the connection cable and pedals

Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: USING THE UNIT SAFELY and IMPORTANT NOTES (Owner's
Manual). These sections provide important information concerning the proper operation of the unit. Additionally, in
order to feel assured that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, Setup Guide 1, 2
and Owners manuals should be read in its entirety. These manuals should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient
reference.

Fold the left side

NOTE

* Take care not to allow the system to tip over when folding it up.
* When setting up or storing the system, take care not to pinch the fingers that grasp the stand.

1. Turn off the power.

1. Change the sound modules position.

4. Remove the kick pedal.

Loosen the bolt on the cymbal rod, and fold the cymbal so it is in a
vertical position. Tighten the bolt.
Open the lever on the pipe holding the cymbal rod, and gently
lower the cymbal rod. Tighten the lever.

that the sound module is in a
vertical position.
Tighten the bolt.

2. Disconnect all cables from the percussion sound module.


Loosen the knobs that fasten
the connection cable, and pull
the connector straight out.

Fold up the cymbal rods.

Use drum key to

Release the lever and lower the cymbal
rod.

Loosen the bolt on the hi-hat arm


and then turn the hi-hat pad so it
is in a vertical position. Tighten
the bolt.

Disconnect the connection cable, AC adaptor, headphones,


and cables connected to the OUTPUT jacks.

Loosen the hand


knob

Take care not to pinch the cable


when lowering the pipe.

Loosen the hand knob, and swing


the pipe and cymbal around to the
front side of the kit as shown in
the illustration. Tighten the knob
firmly.

3. Disconnect the hi-hat control pedal cable.

5. Loosen the hand knob on the pipe and lower it while


turning it to align with the frame, as shown in the
illustration.

When youve lowered it to the very bottom, tighten the hand


knob securely.

3. Folding tom 1.
Loosen the bolt on the tom at the
location shown in the illustration,
and fold the tom so it is in a
vertical position.
Tighten the bolt.

You can fasten the disconnected cable to the cable holder.

Tighten the bolt.

align with the frame, as shown in the illustration.

Folding the stand.

1. Loosen the hand knob and fold the stand inwards.

2. Loosen the hand knob

and lower the snare pad as


shown in the illustration.

NOTE

Loosen the hand knob at the


location shown in the illustration,
and lower the snare.

When storing the system in a folded


state, leave the stands pipes opened so
that they are at least 13 cm apart. If this
distance is less than 13 cm, the stand will
be unstable and may fall over.

Align

Loosen the hand knob, and swing the pipe and tom around to the
front side of the kit as shown in the illustration.
Tighten the knob firmly.

2. Place tom 2 in a vertical position.


Loosen the bolt on the tom 2,
and fold the tom so it is in a
vertical position.
Tighten the bolt. Loosen
the hand knob and raise
the tom 3 pipe all the
way up.
Tight the hand knob.

Loosen the hand knob,


lower the pipe all the way
down, and then securely
tighten the hand knob.

5. Loosen the hand knob on the pipe and lower it while


turning it to align with the frame, as shown in the
illustration.

3. Fold up the cymbal rod and lower it.


Loosen the bolt on the cymbal rod, and fold the cymbal so it is in a
vertical position. Tighten the bolt.
Open the lever on the pipe holding the cymbal rod, and gently
lower the cymbal rod. Tighten the lever.

Fold up the cymbal rod.

Release the lever and lower the cymbal


rod.

When youve rotated them inward, tighten the hand knobs


securely.

separately) designed specifically for the
Roland V-Drums Portable.

Setting Up for Use

Opening the right side

* Take care not to allow the system to tip over when setting it up.
* When setting up or storing the system, take care not to pinch the fingers that
grasp the stand.

1. Extend the stand.

1. Raise the pipe.

4. Raise tom 2.

Loosen the hand knob, and open to 90 degrees.

5. Position the sound module.


Loosen the hand knob at the
location shown in the illustration,
and extend the pipe.

Use the drum key to loosen the


tom bolt at the location shown in
the illustration, and position the
tom.
When the tom is positioned
correctly, tighten the bolt securely.

Do not open wider than 90 degrees

NOTE
* Take care that the cables
are not excessively
stretched.

Tighten the hand knobs to secure


the pipes position.

After youve opened the stand,


tighten the hand knob.

2. Raise the pipe.

2. Extend and set up the cymbal rods.

5. Rotate and extend tom 3.

Loosen the hand knob,


and extend the pipe.
Do not extend the pipe
beyond a height of 85
cm.

Release the lever and pull out the


cymbal rod.

Tighten the hand knobs


to secure the pipes
position.

6. Rotate the kick pad and the pedal plate.

3. Extend tom 1.
Use the drum key to loosen the tom
bolt at the location shown in the
illustration, and position the tom.
When the tom is positioned correctly,
tighten the bolt securely.

Loosen the hand knobs, and


adjust the position of the kick pad
and the pedal plate.

3. Raise and set up the cymbal rods.

7. Adjust the height of tom 1 and tom 2.

Tighten the hand knobs to secure


the kick pad and the pedal plate
position.

Tilt up the cymbal rod.

4. Rotate the hi-hat arm around the outside and position it.

Release the lever and pull out the


cymbal rod.

Use the included drum


key to loosen the bolt
at the location shown
in the illustration, and
rotate the hi-hat so that
it is horizontal.

When the hi-hat is


positioned correctly,
securely tighten the
bolt you loosened.

Position the snare and pedals

3. Position the hi-hat control pedal immediately below the

Connect the connection cable to the percussion sound


module as shown in the illustration.
Insert the connector all the way, and turn the thumbscrews
to secure it.

Tighten the hand knobs to secure


the pipes position.

* Take care that


the cables are
not excessively
stretched.

6. Connect the cable to the sound module.

Tilt up the cymbal rod.

Loosen the hand knob, and rotate


the pipe around the outside.
Position the toms.
Adjust the height of the toms.

NOTE

Use the drum key to loosen


the bolt at the location
shown in the illustration,
and set the sound module in
position.
When the sound module
is positioned correctly,
securely tighten the bolt.

1. Adjust the position and angle of each pad as shown in the illustration.
NOTE
* Before every performance, check to make sure that none of the bolts or hand knobs are loose.
Otherwise, if left untightened, it can be quite dangerous, since the stand could fall over during a performance, or a pad could come off.

Tighten the hand knobs to


secure the pipes position.

Tilt it forward slightly.

2. Attach the kick pedal.


Position the kick pad and pedal so that the beater strikes the
center of the pad when the kick pedal is pressed.

Place at a slightly
lower position than
the crash symbol.

Allow for 36 cm of

1 and tom 2.

4. Connect the cable (HHC) to the hi-hat pedal.

You can attach your


drum key to the cable
holder.

5. Check the cable connections.

Place directly
below the hi-hat.

6. Connect the AC adaptor and your external equipment.

* To prevent damage to your floor or carpet, and to ensure a stable setup, we recommend that you use a separately sold drum mat (TDM series).
