We had many athletes improve their times quite a bit from earlier in the year on this
same course, and that is what we would expect this time of year.
It was awesome to see Payton and Shyanne qualify for the state meet today! They both
were aggressive at the start to put themselves in a good position early in the race. Then
they both attacked the middle of the race as well. Shyanne just missed qualifying last
year by one place, so it was great to see her qualify this year. She also had to battle
back from a foot injury late in the season so that made it even more special today.
Payton has been running very strong lately, and she continued that today to help her get
back to the state meet again this year. She has had a very successful season, and it will
be nice to end it at the State Meet again this year.
Trevor had a solid race today and fell just a couple places shy of qualifying for state. He
went out aggressive and also had a solid end of the race. The boys field was a very
competitive one at this state qualifying site, and I am proud of his effort today. He had a
successful senior season.
