As you register for Spring courses, please consider taking one of our Honors seminars--small, discussion-focused
courses on timely issues taught by outstanding Clemson faculty. Here are a few examples:
HON 2090, Section 1 -- "Diplomacy and Negotiation," Prof. Vladimir Matic. Learning to negotiate is a key skill, both in
everyday life and in international relations. This hands-on course, led by retired diplomat and political science professor Vladimir Matic, features true-to-life simulation exercises drawn from current international events. Provides crosscultural awareness credit.
HON 2210, Section 1 -- "Holocaust Literature," Prof. Johannes Schmidt. Millions of Jews and other victims were killed
in Hitler's concentration camps; perhaps 150,000 survived. This seminar explores the Holocaust through literature,
focusing on the liberation of the camps and on the writings of the survivors. Provides literature credit.
HON 2220, Section 1 -- "The Wisdom of the Moderns," Prof. Colin Pearce. Who were the great thinkers who shaped
the modern world? How do their writings help us to live "the good life" within the context of today's democratized,
globalized, and highly technological world? Provides social science credit.
Happy registration! -- Dr. Lasser
