Nano-gate Implant
Nano-Gate Implant
What is Nano-gate implant
Nano-gate implant is a nanostructured-material based technology designed for constant
passive diffusion of drug through a Nano-pore membrane engineered to exact size and
requirement of individual molecules.
The company developed Nano-GATE, a small cylindrical implant inserted under the skin
providing a continuous alpha interferon release for 36 months.
Nano-gate implant is composed of Nano-pore membranes that are important for the
fabrication of Nano-gate implant, and silicon films with parallel rectangular channels
drugs from the capsule, providing a continuous release of drug for from 3-6 months.
Nano-gate implant is 4-5mm in diameter and 20-35mm in length with a 75-300microlitre

surface these do not limit diffusion of molecules. So Nano-gate implant is completely functional
in-vivo, and release drug constantly over extended time period.
Principle
As implant is composed of nanpore membrane so the drug is filled upon arranging the membrane
with titanium grate opening. Nano-pore membrane that is made up of silicon film controls the
drug diffusion. Pore size is designed according to size of drug molecules.
Nano-gate implant technology is diffusion driven, that provide more space for drug formulation.
It can be used for targeted delivery of alpha-interferon to the tumor site but side effects may be
observed.
It is suitable for the delivery of protein and peptide drugs.
