Ingleby Mill Primary School

December 2015 Newsletter

It is difficult to believe that we are edging towards

the end of our first term: the time has gone by
very quickly and there has been a lot going on! The
children are well settled, almost all are working
hard and enjoying their learning. Visitors this term
have commented upon how well they are engaged in
their learning. Their good manners have also shone
through.
As well as the day to day learning (which doesnt
stop!), children (and staff) are now getting busy
with festive preparations: rehearsing for Nativity
plays, Carol services and the Christingle. Everyone
has been making decorations and our trees look
resplendent in all of their bright colours. This is a
special time of year in school.
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
Article 31
Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a
wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
Ingleby Mill Children Making a Positive
Contribution to their Community:
The very impressive amount of 491 was raised in
total through children being heroes for Children in
Need. THANK YOU to everyone who donated,
supported and encouraged the children to help others.
Friendship Week
The children had great fun learning about what being a
friend means, looks like and feels like. They worked
hard to understand how important it is to make noise
about bullying. Their learning during the week involved
lots of drama, circle time, recognising each others
strengths and saying what they value in a friend. This
annual event coincides with National Anti - Bullying
Week but we emphasise the positive influence of
friendship and being a good friend.
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
Article 29
Education must develop every childs personality, talents and
abilities to the full. It must encourage the childs respect for
human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own
and other cultures, and the environment.

Shoe Boxes
Thank you to the many families who made
contributions to the annual Rotary Shoe Box
Appeal. We know that times are hard so the
fact that we managed to send almost 100
boxes is testimony to your kindness. Thanks
again.

Dates for your Diary: Please cut out and

keep! Ticket information can be obtained
