After 28 years in Hawaii, the Islanders return to the mainland, this time to
Colorado Springs. The club partners with the Cleveland Indians, its first
ever Major League affiliate, and takes on the Sky Sox name in honor of
the former White Sox affiliate that resided in Colorado Springs
from 1950 - 58.
The Sky Sox win their first Pacific Coast League championship in a 3-0
series sweep of the Vancouver Canadians.

The Sky Sox franchise - originally the Portland (OR) Beavers - is founded
as an original member of the Pacific Coast League.
1993 1992
Colorado Springs wins its second PLC title, defeating the Salt Lake Buzz,
3-to-2, on a walk-off base hit in the series deciding game.
After 22 seasons as a Rockies affiliate, the Sky Sox sign a two-year player
development contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, ushering in a new era
of Sky Sox baseball.
