Managed Hosting Offer

Email has become mission critical a few years back, and the complexities of its
management has also increased over the years, and it makes sense to outsource
these services because:

• Data Integrity, Security and Availability is becoming a concern


• Spam or Un-solicited email, has becoming extremely annoying
• Adult Content, which could cause embarrassment in the work place
• Viruses, that spread through emails
• Bandwidth and server resources wastage on account of Virus and Spam
• Open Relay, which was once a feature, but could get your Organization into
the blacklist of internet community, if not tackled properly

At Accel, we realize this need and we offer a wide range of services starting from
platform support to completely outsourced support. Our services have no limitations
in terms of platform or operating systems. We offer end-to-end services, or modular
services as per the needs of the customer. Services include some or all of the
following.

• Client Installation & Data Migration
• Support Services for Messaging (SSM)

SSM - Support Services for Messaging

Accel offers solutions to customers, which will enable them to maximize availability
and reduce TCO of IT Infrastructure. SSM is also driven by the same philosophy. Key
objective of SSM is maximum business benefit to customer and it focuses on a
variety of aspects that could potentially affect the business. SSM is a pro-active
service - we do not wait for problems to occur. At the same time, business continuity
is on top our minds, and the process makes sure that if a disaster occurs, customer
is back on business in predictable time.

Platforms

A variety of open source and proprietary platforms are supported by Accel including:

• Microsoft Exchange
• Lotus Domino
• Suse OpenExchange
• Linux Based Solutions including Qmail, Postfix and Sendmail

We also support other proprietary platforms, depending on customer needs.

Messaging system today is not complete without third-party tools for content filtering,
Virus checking and Spam protection. Accel support a variety of tools including open
source solutions like SpamAssassin, ClamAV and proprietary solutions from
Symantec, Trend Micro, Sophos and a lot of other vendors.

Accel can support a blend of multiple products and protocols, as it is a vendor-


independent, solution focused service provider. Accel has expertise in the messaging
and Internet domain, which helps it to address any kind of mixture, keeping the
uptime in mind, from an end-users perspective.

Proposal to Customer

Based on the brief discussion we had, we propose the following services to


Customer, at a very high level. We can submit a detailed proposal with break-up,
SLAs and SOPs, and measurement matrix for the overall project and various sub-
tasks as we go forward. In addition to the messaging platform, Accel is very keen to
get associated with Customer for a variety of other services like Internet
Infrastructure Services, Web Development Services, Network Monitoring and
Support Services etc. A combination of these services will ensure maximum uptime
and trouble-free operations of Network and Internet infrastructure.

Overview of services to be provided

• Managed Hosting of messaging infrastructure


• Administration and Pro-active maintenance of Lotus Domino Messaging
Server
• Administration and Maintenance of anti-virus & anti-spam programs
• Co-Ordination with vendors for upgrades, and warranty support
• Recommendations to Customer keeping in view of scalability, availability and
capacity.
• Reporting of messaging traffic, to the extent possible by the platform.
• Ensuring SLAs for throughput and response
• Configuring and managing clustering at client site

Key objective is to make messaging platform available to local as well remote


users, and to prevent un-solicited emails including Spam and Virus, while
shielding them from the complexities of underlying technology.

Proposed Setup

The picture demonstrates the proposed setup. For the current load, we recommend
mirroring over the Internet. However as the load increases, a private line from client
site to our data center may be considered for faster replication.

Primary Server is colocated at Accel data center and Accel manages all content
filtering mechanisms. Local users at client site use the local mail server and remote
users log into the server at IDC. Accel will ensure performance and throughput as per
the SLAs signed.

Following commercials assume a total number of mailboxes of 300. All charges are

Platform

Scope
The scope includes administration and management of the messaging platform at
the serving end. It includes Lotus Domino platform, and integration of all software
and hardware for this purpose. It does not include activities at the user (client level)
level, like configuring clients, migrating data etc, which can be taken up at extra cost.

Suitable recommendations will be given to Customer, at any given point of time, if


there is a mismatch between the requirements and the features of available platform.

Terms & Conditions


1. Customer is expected to purchase required software licenses for Domino and
operating systems. Content Filtering at Accel End is managed totally by Accel,
including software licenses.
2. Taxes and levies as applicable from time to time will be to customer’s
account.
3. Payments – 100% advance for installation, and quarterly advance for support
services.

4. Service Level Agreements will be signed, after discussions and mutual


agreement.
5. Additional Terms & Conditions may apply, final proposal will be submitted
after discussing minute details with client.
6. If the data transfer exceeds the specified limit, customer will be requested to
move to the next slab on mutually agreeable terms and conditions.
