Dear Governor,
In the past I would have been less formal but it seems the office is
becoming you rather than the other way around. I would like a public
explanation of the firing of Walt Monegan. I think the process to date
smells pretty badly given what I have to go on as a citizen involved
with community affairs. I have watched Walt over the years - note the
plural form of that word - and never had significant heartburn with how
he ran APD or Troopers. So if the direction was wrong, what is right?
As we can see, Walt is no dummy to office infighting and is mopping the
floor with your mishandling of this matter. Just as a matter of course,
having been a state employee, I can appreciate the starvation funding
the troopers must face. I saw it in Div Comm under the department of
Admin. So right now, I think an explanation that is honest, credible
and believable is owed the citizens of the State. Nothing less.
