Writing Section Please answer the following questions.

1. Please explain why you are the right type of person to teach overseas.
I am the right type of person to teach overseas because I am adventurous, outgoing, and have a
plethora of diverse interest. I enjoy meeting and interacting with new people and new environments.
I am the right type of person to teach in South Korea because I have been interested in Korea and its
culture for a long time. I enjoy the food, music and television dramas. I’m intrigued how South
Korea has kept many of its 5000 year old traditions while still being a modernized country on
technologies cutting edge.

2. Please explain what qualities you think are necessary to be a good teacher.
I believe in order to be a good teacher there are certain qualities one must possess. Qualities such as
a passion for both learning and teaching, an understanding that people learn in different ways, a
warm and inviting personality as well as being able to encourage and inspire students.

3. Please describe how you would deal with a workplace dispute with another co-worker or supervisor.
If I had a workplace dispute I would talk to that person in private telling them my problems and
concerns, listen to that persons feedback and work together to resolve the issue.

4. Please describe some actions you could take if you began feeling homesick or lonely while in Korea.
As I travel a lot whenever I feel homesick or lonely I do the things I would do at home such as
exercise or play soccer, then I go out and explore my new surroundings and find that the feeling of
being homesick or lonely disappear as I immerse myself in this new land. Finally I would call home
and talk to my family and friends and tell them about these new experiences.

5. Do you have any other plans for your time in Korea? (Further study, hobbies to pursue, places to
visit?)
I want to do it all while I’m in Korea. I want to travel, shop at the outdoor markets, I want to go to
concerts as well as go to English Town and explore Koreas’ historical places. I also want to travel to
Japan and explore its culture.
