Air pollution is the presence or
introduction into the air of chemicals or harmful substances.
*What is ocean acidification?*
Ocean acidification is the presence or reduction in the pH of the
ocean.

BOTH of these are

linked in a very important way.
Air pollution comes from many
things we use today. For example, transportation, power plants,
factories, really anything that releases chemicals

About 200 and more chemicals are in the air

we breathe.
-examples of chemicals that are used are: sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide,
nitrogen chemicals, lead,...etc.
1st: The chemicals ar e bur ned

Air pollution and Ocean Acidification have great effects our

society

Causes health problems

Diseases, heart problems, reduction of oxygen to the lungs

to breathe

Causes acid rain , harmful

amounts of nitric and sulfuric
acids

Crop yields

Kills and hurts animals in and

out of the ocean

Effects the food chain

Contributes to global warming

2nd: These chemicals tr avel into the air .

3rd:Then the chemicals dissolve into vapor

to form acid
4th: lastly it condenses into clouds and falls,
making its way to the ocean.
